A who’s-who of squads from across the region will descend upon Nashville for this meet. The Lady Govs will face athletes from schools such as Lipscomb, Louisville, Memphis, Michigan, Southern Illinois and OVC foe Belmont, among others.

It’s been more than a month since the Lady Govs last competed as a full squad at the OVC Indoor Championships. Senior Chantelle Grey ran the 800m event at the Alex Wilson Invitational, March 2nd, but the rest of the Lady Govs have spent the interim training for a seven-meet outdoor season.

In her last action, junior Xiamar Richards took home fourth-place (5000m run) and sixth place (3000m run) honors at the OVC Championships. Senior thrower Jasmine Foster also earned points toward the Lady Govs team score in two events, finishing fifth in the weight throw and sixth in the shot put.

At last year’s Black and Gold Invite, Grey was runner-up in the 400m dash, with a team season-best 55.41 mark. Junior Molly Basch’s 3.21m pole vault mark gave her a seventh-place finish.
