Clarksville, TN – City of Clarksville will celebrate our nation’s independence this year with the eighth annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3rd, 2015 at Liberty Park. The event is free and open to the public.
Activities and music will begin at 6:30pm. Seating is available throughout the park and the concerts will take place on the Great Lawn of the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. Concessions are for sale throughout the park.
Liberty Park Parking
Parking is available inside the park for handicap license plates and placards. Marina users must have approved vehicle tags or temporary pass.
Boats with trailers will be allowed to access the boat ramp parking area until 4:00pm or until the parking area has been filled. For safety reasons, no boats will be allowed to enter or exit the area between 8:00pm and 10:00pm.
Additionally, Zinc Plant Road and the Zinc Plant Bridge will be closed to all traffic from 9:30pm to 10:00pm for the fireworks show. Guests should expect long delays on Riverside Drive and Highway 48-13 prior to and after the event.
There are three satellite parking locations available for visitors beginning at 4:00pm. In order to assist with parking, CTS will be offering free rides to and from the event from several locations close to the park. First, for those people who want to park downtown, buses will begin departing the downtown Transit Center at 4:00pm. First Baptist Church and the downtown parking garage will both be available for shuttle pickup. Public Parking in Historic Downtown Clarksville is free after 5:00pm.
Second, the parking lot at the Big Lots shopping area on Riverside Drive will also be open for parking. A CTS shuttle will run through this location to Liberty Park. It is expected that this lot will fill quickly and once the lot is full, the shuttle will not continue to pick up guests for transport to the park.
Additionally, the parking lot at 1312 Highway 48/13, the School System Facilities Building, will be open. This is the old Jostens Facility off of Highway 48/13, just past Liberty Park. All shuttles will continue their loop until 9:15pm. There will be a slight pause in service during the fireworks.
The shuttles will each be marked with their destination. Please make sure you remember which lot you parked in, and return to that corresponding bus.
At the conclusion of the fireworks show, CTS buses will begin returning guests to these parking areas with the last bus departing from Liberty Park promptly at 11:00pm.
