Clarksville, TN – Ten local nonprofits are joining together to have fun celebrating the good work they do in the community during The Big Payback, Tennessee’s 6th annual giving day, presented by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
Clarksvillians are invited to come out to the Downtown Commons on Thursday, May 2nd, from 11:00am to 2:00pm to enjoy crafts, karaoke, games, and hot dogs and to learn about the contributions these agencies give to the community.
They can also decide to support this work with donations through The Big Payback, established to encourage Middle Tennesseans to give local and support nonprofits during a 24-hour campaign, beginning at midnight, May 2nd.
Once the clock starts, anyone can visit TheBigPayback.org and make donations to local organizations and other participating nonprofits. Donors can view and select from participating organizations based on location and focus area, such as education, health care, animals, the environment and more, and support multiple nonprofits with gifts from $10.00 and up.
To celebrate their participation in the 2019 Big Payback, Arts and Heritage Development Council, Arts for Hearts Clarksville, Loaves and Fishes, Gateway Chamber Orchestra, Customs House Museum, Leadership Clarksville, Manna Café, Veteran’s Transitional Housing, Adult Literacy Council, Ajax Senior Center and Operation Stand Down are hosting the “Big Payback Shindig”.
“Nonprofits embody the best spirit and values of our community. They help our neighbors and families daily and strengthen the fabric of Clarksville-Montgomery County. This is an exciting opportunity for the community to support and recognize the positive impact our local nonprofits have on our community,” Arts for Hearts founder and Shindig organizer Rita Arancibia said.
