Austin Peay State University Women’s Basketball gets 82-62 home win over Christian Brothers

 

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – It was not the scoring explosion nor the three-point barrage Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball team displayed in the season opener, tonight the Governors displayed a suffocating full-court press that forced 29 turnovers and led to 18 steals, as the Govs defeated Christian Brothers, 82-62, in the Dunn Center.

Marsha Blackburn, Ed Markey, Lamar Alexander Introduce Legislation to Secure Stadiums During Events

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Ed Markey (D-Mass.), members of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, and Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) introduced the Stadiums Operating under New Guidance (SONG) Act, which gives the Federal Aviation Administration the authority to issue Temporary Flight Restrictions for concerts and other events held at stadiums across the country.

“Whether Tennesseans are going to a concert or a UT Vols football game, they should be able to enjoy the fun without worrying about unsafe skies,” said Senator Blackburn.

Lamar Alexander: $12 Million Federal Grant Will Help Memphians Get to Work, School and Home on Time

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – United States Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today said a $12 million federal grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation will help Memphians get to work, school and home on time.

“This $12 million federal grant will allow the City of Memphis to move forward with the Memphis Innovation Corridor, which will help increase travel options for Memphians in low income and central city neighborhoods. This new corridor will make it easier for Memphians to access their jobs, educational opportunities and more affordable housing,” Senator Alexander said.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council hosts Nashville Chamber of Commerce at Fort Campbell

Clarksville Police Officer Jonathan Williams presented with Lifesaver Award

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Friday, November 8th, 2019, Clarksville Police Officer Jonathan Williams was recognized for his actions during an emergency situation and was presented with a Lifesaver Award. The Lifesaver award is given to officers whose direct actions saves or extends the life of another person.

On September 19th, 2019, around 10:00am, Officer Jonathan Williams responded to 911 call at the Marathon Gas Station at 2088 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.
