Marsha Blackburn, Chuck Grassley, Colleagues Work to Improve Transparency and Accountability for U.S. Olympics’ Abuse Review Arm

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) joined Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) in introducing legislation to ensure the proper use of resources designated for investigating abuses of Olympic and amateur athletes.

The Stopping Abuse from Entering Sports, Promoting Oversight, Responsibility and Transparency (SAFESPORT) Act is cosponsored by Senators Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and David Perdue (R-Ga.).

Tennessee Lady Vols basketball rolls past Tennessee State, 73-43

 

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – The Tennessee Lady Vols basketball moved their record to 4-0 on Thursday night, defeating Tennessee State, 73-43, in front of a crowd of 7,213 at Thompson-Boling Arena.

The win marked the third-straight year that UT has started out 4-0, and the Lady Vols improved to 6-0 all-time against the Lady Tigers (1-1).
 
Eight players for the Big Orange scored during the first of six consecutive home games, with three of them scoring in double digits. Sophomore Rae Burrell came off the bench to lead the way with a career-high-tying 14, while junior Rennia Davis and junior Kasiyahna Kushkituah added 12 and 11, respectively.

The White HouseWashington, D.C. – Earlier this year, the Donald Trump Administration sounded the alarm to Congress about an emerging security and humanitarian crisis on our southern border.

The President repeatedly asked Congress “to act to fix the loopholes in our broken immigration system, and close the gaps driving this crisis,” Acting Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Mark Morgan said in a briefing at the White House today.

Free Flu Vaccinations to be offered by Montgomery County Health Department, Tuesday

716th Military Police Battalion launches ground-breaking Field Training Exercise at Fort Campbell

 

101st Sustainment Brigade - LifelinersFort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – On November 6th, 2019, Soldiers assigned to 716th Military Police Battalion were hard at work setting up perimeters, pulling security and conducting training drills during their field exercise at Range 65 on Fort Campbell, KY.

“We are jointly deploying both the 510th Military Police Detachment and the 163rd Military Police Detachment for this field exercise,” said Capt. Anthony Fisher, 163rd Military Police Detachment and 510th Military Police Detachment company commander.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – An Austin Peay State University (APSU) student is one of 100 nationwide to earn a full $22,000 scholarship for advanced cybersecurity training at the SANS Technology Institute next year.
