Clarksville, TN — The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Friday morning on 101st Airborne Division Parkway near Trenton Road.
The crash was reported at approximately 5:20am after a vehicle left the roadway on the eastbound side of 101st Airborne Division Parkway near the intersection of Trenton Road. The Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) responded to the scene to process evidence and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Eastbound lanes of 101st Airborne Division Parkway were affected while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene, with motorists encouraged to seek alternative routes.
According to a second update from CPD, the roadway was cleared at approximately 8:10am.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center Clarksville, where they were tragically pronounced deceased.
CPD reported that it does appear the driver suffered a medical emergency that led to the collision.
The crash remains under investigation. Additional information, including the identity of the deceased, was not immediately available pending notification of next of kin.
