Alan LeQuire's colossal works — Athena Parthenos, Musica, Dream Forest and the Tennessee Woman Suffrage Monument among them — represent decades of vision and mastery, and the suffrage monument alone gathers figures like Odetta, Diane Nash, Dr. Dorothy Brown and Dr. Mildred Stahlman. His pull was local, too: crowds gathered beneath the iconic columns for a sold-out artist talk on June 24th, an evening of art, conversation and reverence and another mark of his enduring influence.
