The health pages offered “Wisdom Teeth 101” and explained “What Is Healthy Fat?,” and a turkey-stuffing recipe suited the season.
The recurring departments round out a November number centered on gratitude, tradition and family — encouraging readers to think more deeply about thankfulness while celebrating the traditions and everyday teaching that hold families together as the holidays approach.
“The Great American Gratitude Myth” began with Pamela Magrans stuck trying to be in two places at once, and asking another parent to collect her child from soccer. She thanked the parent several times in person, texted her thanks again once her child was home, and sent one more “thanks again — good night” at bedtime — only to get the reply, “Pamela, you already thanked me six times.” The overdone thank-you became her way into a deeper question about what gratitude really means.
