“Food Truck Fever” traced a local movement to a single fateful day. “RIP Medical Debt” told a genuinely moving story. “I almost threw the letter away,” one recipient recalled of the notice that their medical debt had been erased. News Channel 5 partnered with RIP Medical Debt, and the fundraising paid off real debts for real families. “You've Been Vaccinated — What Now?” answered the spring's most-asked question, as the CDC's social-distancing guidance began slowly shifting.
The recurring departments round out an issue that radiates relief and momentum — a food-truck scene that turned a pandemic into a beginning, families freed from crushing medical debt, and a community reading the CDC's shifting guidance as permission to gather again.
