The holiday food feature offered Brie en Croûte — baked Brie in puff pastry, wrapped with honey or a fruit jam like raspberry, fig or apricot, and optionally topped with chopped walnuts, pistachios or almonds — an elegant, simple centerpiece for the season's gatherings.
The 4th Annual CHAFF Latin Festival drew between 5,000 and 7,500 people to Liberty Park for the Clarksville Hispanic American Family Foundation's celebration of authentic food, music and culture representing the Latin heritage of thousands of area families — one of the area's largest and fastest-growing community events. A significant business announcement closed out the year: Janet Wilson with CMC EDC welcomed a small group to Governor's Square Mall for the official announcement of the soon-to-open Phoenix Theatres Clarksville.
The recurring departments round out a December number that closes 2024 with a mix of holiday tradition, cultural celebration and news of what's coming to Clarksville next.
The Brie en Croûte recipe kept things simple: thaw a sheet of puff pastry, slice the top rind off an eight-ounce round of Brie, set it on the pastry, spread honey or a jam like raspberry, fig or apricot on top with optional chopped walnuts, pistachios or almonds, fold the dough over in a circular crease and trim the excess, then bake at 350 degrees for thirty minutes and let it cool before serving with crackers.
