Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The 12th annual Rivers and Spires Festival begins today at 10:00am. The weather could not be better. The forecast is sunny with a high of 81°F with a slight southern wind from 5 to 10 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low of 55°F. Perfect weather for the last day of the event.

Rivers and Spires kicks off Saturday morning with Distinguished Steppers Unlimited, Elite Dance Team, Korean-American Association, and Press A to Jump.

Election 2014Clarksville, TN – There has been considerable discussion and talk at the “grassroots level” in recent weeks about the possibility of developing a Downtown Urban Park on the block (surrounded by 2nd, 3rd, Main and Legion Streets) now occupied by the building that was once the former Bank of America.

This property is currently for sale. As of this release, no official presentation of the idea or concept has been presented to the city for consideration.

They will be discussing a resolution of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners to amend Animal Control Regulations. This resolution concerns a specific requirement that outdoor pets must be provided shade.

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC)Montgomery County, TN – On Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:00pm, an amendment is being presented to the Montgomery County Commission that will require that pet owners ensure outdoor pets have access to shade on hot days.

Currently, our local Animal Control department is not requiring pet owners to provide shade for their animals because the law doesn’t say “shade.”

Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires Festival to feature U.S. Army’s Orange County Chopper

 

U.S. ArmyClarksville, TN – The U.S. Army’s famed Orange County Chopper will be making its first appearance in Middle Tennessee since 2011 at this weekend’s Rivers and Spires Festival in Clarksville.

The detailed motorcycle will be on display both Friday and Saturday at Rivers and Spires in downtown Clarksville, TN. It will be located in the Military Appreciation area near the intersection of Commerce street and 2nd street.
