Nashville Sounds join Minor League Baseball’s Community First Campaign

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club has announced its participation in Minor League Baseball’s CommUNITY First initiative. The campaign is geared to raise funds for local Feeding America food banks while also honoring local heroes risking their lives on the front lines of the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.

Feeding America is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to fighting domestic hunger through a network of food banks. The local Feeding America food bank the Sounds and its fans will raise money for is Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

Nashville Sounds introduce “Safe and Sounds at Home” Campaign

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club have announced plans to continue virtual entertainment for fans with the “Safe and Sounds at Home” campaign during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and suspension of Minor League Baseball games being played.

“Safe and Sounds at Home” will begin Thursday, April 9th in place of the originally scheduled Opening Day contest against the Iowa Cubs. The engaging creative campaign will continue until Minor League Baseball announces the start of the 2020 season and baseball returns to First Horizon Park.

Nashville Sounds announce Vanderbilt Baseball Games cancelled at First Horizon Park

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club regrets to announce today the Vanderbilt vs. Belmont game on March 17th and Vanderbilt vs. Lipscomb game on March 24th to be played at First Horizon Park have been cancelled due to damages sustained from the tornado this past week.

“We’re very disappointed to not be able to host these two events at First Horizon Park in 2020,” said Sounds General Manager Adam Nuse. “We fully support these brilliant baseball programs, but at this time our primary focus is to have First Horizon Park functioning as best as we can for Opening Day on April 9th.”

Vanderbilt Commodores Baseball to play Belmont, Lipscomb at First Horizon Park in March

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The defending National Champion Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team will return to First Horizon Park in 2020 for a pair of non-conference games. The SEC preseason favorites will square off against fellow Nashville programs on March 17th and 24th.

On Tuesday, March 17th at 6:30pm, the Commodores will play the Belmont Bruins in a non-conference game. The 2020 matchup marks the fifth consecutive year the two programs have played at First Horizon Park.

The following Tuesday, March 24th, Vanderbilt and the Lipscomb Bisons will meet for a non-conference tilt at 6:30pm. It will be the fourth meeting between the two programs at the home of the Sounds.

Nashville Sounds named Baseball America’s Triple-A Freitas Award Winner

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds have been named the 2019 Triple-A winner of Baseball America’s Freitas Award. The Freitas Awards have been presented by Baseball America annually since 1989 and recognize franchises for their community involvement, long-term business success and consistent operational excellence.

The award will be presented on Monday, December 9th, 2019 to Sounds General Manager Adam Nuse at the Baseball Winter Meetings in San Diego California.

“This is a tremendous honor from Baseball America for our organization,” said Nuse. “We strive to be the very best Minor League Baseball team in the country and share this award with our passionate fan base in Middle Tennessee.”

Nashville Sounds have releases their 2020 Schedule

 

Nashville Sounds Open Campaign on April 9th at First Horizon Park

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club has announced its 2020 schedule, complete with home and away game times for all 140 games.

The 43rd season in club history begins at First Horizon Park on Thursday, April 9th as the Sounds host the Iowa Cubs at 6:35pm. Opening Day is part of a season-opening five-game homestand. It’s the second consecutive season the Sounds begin the season in Nashville.

“We’re already looking forward to and planning an exciting 2020 season for the best fans in Minor League Baseball,” said Sounds General Manager Adam Nuse.

For the third time in six years, the Sounds will open their season at home. Opening Day of 2020 is scheduled for Thursday, April 9th when the Sounds host the Iowa Cubs.

The home opener against the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs is the beginning of a season-opening five-game homestand at First Tennessee Park.

Nashville Sounds to transform into Viheulas De Nashville from May 3rd to 5th

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club has announced its participation in Minor League Baseball’s Copa de la Diversión (Fun Cup™) event series. For three games against the Memphis Redbirds from May 3rd to 5th, the Sounds will change their name to Vihuelas de Nashville, complete with specialty jerseys and hats.

Copa de la Diversión started in 2018 with nearly half of the teams in Minor League Baseball participating. The campaign is designed for teams to authentically connect with their Latinx communities and embrace and celebrate the culture and values that resonate most with Latinx fans nationwide.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club will host two job fairs at First Tennessee Park in preparation for the 2019 season. The team is seeking outgoing, energetic and fan-friendly individuals to become part of the game-day staff for 70 home games and other outside events.

The Sounds and Centerplate, the team’s food and beverage provider, will combine to hire between 350-400 part-time employees to operate First Tennessee Park during the upcoming season.
