Clarksville, TN – The last day of the 2014 Rivers and Spires Festival continued to be the best in memory. The weather was absolutely flawless, neither too hot nor to cold. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky throughout the entire day.
I rushed down to the Festival at 9:00am to catch the annual WJZM 1400 AM Clarksville in Review broadcast from the Festival. This usually is held at the Bill Roberts thunder road automotive tent on Franklin Street just down from the Roxy Regional Theatre. The program was already well underway when I arrived.
Clarksville, TN – The second day of the Rivers and Spires Festival opened with an unseasonable chill in the air, but that didn’t stop the crowds for coming out for the second day of this wonderful three day festival held in Historic Downtown Clarksville Tennessee.
On the first day of the 2013 Rivers and Spires Festival I concentrated mostly on the musical entertainment, today I engaged in one of the most popular activities at the festival, people watching!

The Marina currently features 85 slips of which about half are already leased. When fully completed there will be a total of roughly 300 slips available. Slip rental starts at around $200 per month with the top end slips going for around $450. The Marina also features a Ships Store, basically a small convenience store, refueling station, restrooms with private showers showers, laundry facility, etc. “We are thrilled, the available slips are over half full already and our phone is ringing off the wall; it’s going to fill up quick!” said General Manager Dave Signs. “We feel like what is going on here is something that’s Clarksville’s not seen before, a marina is a family, it is its own little town.”

Clarksville, TN – The final day of the 2012 Rivers and Spires Festival on Saturday opened with unseasonably cooler weather to the point of being really chilly. Warm coats, hats, and/or gloves were the order of the day. Turnout started out slow, and might have been a little bit depressed over all from previous years as a result, but the people who did come out had a really great time!
Arriving around 11:00am, I found dribs and drabs of people mostly scattered around the various stages. As the morning progressed the numbers steadily increased. I made my way up strawberry alley and watched a vendor playing with one of the many items he had for sale. «Read the rest of this article»
