Tennessee Titans last game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans traveled to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1 of the 2015 season. In QB Marcus Mariota’s NFL debut, the Titans’ rookie quarterback and second-overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft threw four touchdown passes to lead Tennessee to a 42-14 victory over the Buccaneers.

In doing so, Mariota became the second player in league history to throw for four touchdowns in his first NFL start.

Series History between Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In 11 all-time meetings between the Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Titans have won nine of the games in the series, which dates back to Tampa Bay’s expansion season of 1976. The Titans won five consecutive meetings from 1989 through 2003.

The first game between the two franchises was a historic occasion. On September 12th, 1976, the Buccaneers, led by head coach John McKay and quarterback Steve Spurrier, played the inaugural game in team history against the Oilers at the Astrodome. The Oilers, coached by Bum Phillips and quarterbacked by Dan Pastorini, won the game by a final score of 20-0.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (3-9) travel to face the New York Jets (7-5) this week in their first of two consecutive road games against AFC East foes. Kickoff at MetLife Stadium (capacity 82,500) is scheduled for 1:00pm EST/noon CST on Sunday, December 13th.

This will be the first time the Titans play the Jets at MetLife Stadium, which opened in 2010. They have won at the venue, however, defeating the New York Giants there on September 26th, 2010. The last time the Titans visited the Jets was Week 3 of 2009 in the final year of Giants Stadium’s existence.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (1-6) reach the midpoint of their season this week, traveling to New Orleans to face the Saints (4-4). Kickoff at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome (capacity 73,000) is scheduled for noon CST on Sunday, November 8th.

This is the 14th all-time meeting between the two franchises during the regular season. In the first 13 matchups, the Titans took a 7-5-1 series lead, although the Saints won the most recent game at Nissan Stadium in 2011 (22-17 on December 11th).

This week’s game will be televised regionally on CBS, including Nashville affiliate WTVF NewsChannel 5. Spero Dedes will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Solomon Wilcots.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (1-4) host the the Atlanta Falcons (5-1) this week at Nissan Stadium (capacity 69,143). Kickoff is scheduled for noon CDT on Sunday, October 25th. The Falcons will appear in a regular season game at Nissan Stadium for only the third time. The Titans took both of the previous two meetings at the venue, winning 30-17 in 1999 and 20-13 in 2007.

This week’s game will be televised regionally on FOX, including Nashville affiliate WZTV FOX 17. Thom Brennaman will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Charles Davis with Tony Siragusa serving as an on-field analyst.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans romped all over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday on their way to a 42-14 victory. The Titans could not have asked for a better start to the 2015 season.

The game received a lot of hype as it featured the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft Jameis Winston, with the Bucs, against the No. 2 overall pick Marcus Mariota with the Titans. The game was lopsided from the start.

Tennessee Titans defeat St. Louis Rams 27-14 at Nissan Stadium, Marcus Mariota shows improvement

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – Marcus Mariota put in a solid performance Sunday night at Nissan Stadium as the Tennessee Titans beat the St. Louis Rams 27-14 in their second preseason game.

Mariota, who had 2 turnovers and a sack last week, went 5 of 8 passes for 59 yards. He could have easily been 7-8 if not for two dropped passes. One of which was to Dexter McCluster standing in the end zone.
