Waco, TX – The American Football Coaches Association named Austin Peay State University (APSU) head football coach Mark Hudspeth its Region 3 Football Championship Subdivision Coach of the Year, Tuesday. Hudspeth becomes the first Austin Peay coach to earn the regional honor from the coaches association.
Brentwood, TN – A program-record 11 Austin Peay State University (APSU) football players earned postseason honors from the Ohio Valley Conference, befitting their status as league champions for 2019.
In addition, Mark Hudspeth became the second Austin Peay State University head coach in three seasons to earn Roy Kidd OVC Coach of the Year honors after the Govs won the league and earned the program’s first playoff berth in his first season at the helm.
Clarksville, TN – Fresh off a convincing road win against Mercer, the Austin Peay State University (APSU)football team once again takes to the road this weekend when the Govs resume a rivalry that has laid dormant since the 1970s against ETSU.
Tennessee Titans (8-7) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (10-5)

Nashville, TN – With a chance to earn a playoff berth, the Tennessee Titans (8-7) conclude the regular season with a New Year’s Eve matchup at home against the 2017 AFC South Champion Jacksonville Jaguars (10-5). Kickoff at Nissan Stadium (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for 3:25pm CST on Sunday, December 31st, 2017.
The Titans won the first of two annual games with the Jaguars on September 17th. After falling behind 3-0, the Titans recorded the game’s next 30 points and scored on six consecutive possessions, eventually winning by a final score of 37-16. The Titans defense forced three turnovers, and the offense rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (0-1) travel to face the AFC South Rival Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) this week. Kickoff at EverBank Field (capacity 64,428) is scheduled for 1:00pm EDT/noon CDT on Sunday, September 17th, 2017.
The Titans and Jaguars have split their annual series in each of the last eight seasons (2009–2016). In 2016, the Titans won the first matchup at Nissan Stadium, only to suffer a loss in Jacksonville in Week 16 that extinguished their playoff hopes.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will welcome four new inductees into its Athletics Hall of Fame, January 28th, 2017.
Drake Reed, a three-time All-Ohio Valley Conference basketball player and 2008 OVC Champion; Chelsea Harris, the 2010 OVC Women’s Golf Player of the Year and Austin Peay’s lone OVC Championship medalist; and Ron Sebree, one of the league’s most fearsome defensive linemen and a linchpin with the 1977 championship team have been selected for induction as part of the Austin Peay Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2017.

Clarksville, TN – One of the greatest Golf Governors in Austin Peay State University history plus a former football standout who returned to his alma mater to help guide the program to its only Ohio Valley Conference title were inducted into the APSU Athletics Hall of Fame, Saturday morning in a breakfast ceremony in the Dunn Center’s Hall of Fame lobby.
In addition, a former superb basketball player from Austin Peay’s small college era was enshrined as part of the Hall of Fame’s Honors category.

Clarksville, TN – It’s a long way from Carnegie, PA, to Tucson, AZ, in more ways than one. Raised by his grandparents, Ed Bunio needed an athletic scholarship if he wanted to attend college. After his outstanding prep career, Michigan came offering so did Miami…but Bunio chose Arizona.
Some 2,100 miles from home, Bunio literally went from a small town of barely 5,000 people to a campus of 15,000. Bunio loved the campus, the city and all the extracurricular activities that were available. In fact this new world was eye opening, except during the daytime…during class time.

In addition, a former superb basketball player from Austin Peay’s small college era was selected to the Hall of Fame as part of it Honors category.
Grant Leaver, a two-time All-Ohio Valley Conference honoree who won five individual championships and played in the 2008 NCAA East Regional; Ed Bunio, a two-way player who was an All-OVC offensive tackle for the 1964 8-1-1 club and later was the architect for 1977 Governors’ championship defense, have been elected to APSU Athletics Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, Bob Bradley, who was a key member of two College Division NCAA teams in 1960-61, was chosen as this year’s honors inductee.
Atlanta, GA – James “Boots” Donnelly, the only coach to lead Austin Peay State University football to an Ohio Valley Conference championship was inducted into the 2013 National Football Foundation (NFF) Division College Hall of Fame, Wednesday night.
The enshrinement ceremony was held at Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta. It was the first time the event was held in Atlanta, the new home of the Hall of Fame.
