Tennessee Titans allow three fourth quarter touchdowns in home loss to Indianapolis Colts

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans headed into the fourth quarter leading the Indianapolis Colts 27-15 at Nissan Stadium. Midway through the fourth, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck threw two touchdown passes in 56 seconds to take the lead 28-27.

Indianapolis went on to score another touchdown via a 6 yard run by Frank Gore to put them up 35-27. The Tennessee rallied late and scored on a 1 yard run by fullback Jalston Fowler. The Titans attempted the two-point conversion, by Fowler’s run was stopped. He retreated trying to find somewhere to go but was brought down by the Colts. Indianapolis would go on to beat Tennessee, 35-33.

Tennessee Titans’ GM Ruston Webster enters Fourth NFL Draft

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The selection process will be the fourth for the Tennessee Titans overseen by General Manager Ruston Webster, who was named general manager on January 18th, 2012. His first three drafts yielded 21 total players, and 18 of those finished the 2014 season on the 53-man roster or injured reserve.

Webster spearheaded the selection of six players in the 2014 NFL Draft: Michigan tackle Taylor Lewan (first round), Washington running back Bishop Sankey (second round), Penn State defensive lineman DaQuan Jones (fourth round), Wyoming defensive back Marqueston Huff (fourth round), Kentucky linebacker Avery Williamson (fifth round) and Louisiana State quarterback Zach Mettenberger (sixth round).

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – This week the Tennessee Titans (2-10) play host to the New York Giants (3-9). Kickoff at LP Field (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for noon CST on Sunday, December 7th.

The game will be televised regionally on FOX, including Nashville affiliate WZTV FOX 17. Thom Brennaman will handle play-by-play duties, and David Diehl will serve as analyst. Laura Okmin will report from the sidelines.

Tennessee Titans get rolled by Philadelphia Eagles 43-24

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (2-9) fell to the Philadelphia Eagles (8-3) Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field 43-24. The Titans day got off to a rough start when the Eagle’s Josh Huff took the opening kickoff 107 yards for a touchdown.

On their first drive, Philadelphia scored again on a 4 yard run by Darren Sproles. Later, Cody Parkey connected on a 36 yard field goal which gave the Eagles a 17-0 lead in the 1st quarter. The slow start was something Tennessee just could not overcome.

Tennessee Titans lose to Washington Redskins 19-17 in final seconds

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – With three seconds remaining in the game, Washington Redskins’ (2-5-0) kicker Kai Forbath made a 22 yard field goal as time expired to give the Skins a 19-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans (2-5-0) at FedExField.

With 5:32 remaining in the game, the Titans defense forced the Redskins to punt giving their offensive a chance to close out the game. However, center Brian Schwenke gets called for illegal use of hands pushing Tennessee back 10 yards. Three plays later, the Titans punt the ball back to the Redskins.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – Tennessee Titans General Manager Ruston Webster’s first-ever pick as general manager was Baylor wide receiver Kendall Wright, chosen in 2012 with the 20th selection in the first round.

In only two seasons, Wright has totaled 158 receptions for 1,705 yards and six touchdowns. His 158 catches are the most by anyone in the 2012 draft class and are the most in franchise history in a player’s first two campaigns.

Tennessee Titans lose to Jacksonville Jaguars 29-27 at LP Field

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Jacksonville Jaguars came to LP Field looking for their first win of the season and they got it beating the Tennessee Titans Sunday 29-27. It was a bad omen for the Titans when Chris Johnson fumbled the ball on the first play of the game. Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny recovered the ball at the Tennessee 19.

Jacksonville would then run Maurice Jones-Drew three times in a row. On his third carry, Jones-Drew ran off left guard for 6 yards and the score. The Jaguars never looked back.

Tennessee Titans defeat New York Jets 38-13; Jake Locker leaves game with hip injury

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans beat the New York Jets Sunday afternoon at LP Field 38-13. The win is overshadowed by the injury to quarterback Jake Locker.

Early in the third quarter, Locker goes back to pass and just gets the ball off before getting hit by Jet’s defensive linemen Muhammad Wilkerson, then gets hit by defensive end Quinton Coples. Lockers goes to the ground grabbing his right hip with 11:14 left in the third quarter. He gave the fans a thumbs up as he was carted off the field.
