Tennessee Department of Education Awards $1M in Special Education Additional Endorsement Grants

 

Tennessee Department of EducationNashville, TN – Today, Wednesday, July 15th, 2020, the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) announced the Special Education Additional Endorsement Grant, which will enable every public school district to provide at least one teacher with a special education endorsement (SPED) for free.

Eight SPED Additional Endorsement Grants, totaling $1 million, have been awarded to Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs) to deliver courses in a virtual environment.

Tennessee State Board of EducationNashville, TN – In its newly enhanced Educator Preparation Report Card, the State Board identified nine educator preparation providers (EPPs) as exceeding expectations in their preparation of the state’s future teachers and school leaders.

“Our latest report card shows us that more educator preparation programs are meeting or even exceeding expectations in their work to prepare our state’s future teachers,” said Dr. Sara Morrison, executive director of the State Board of Education.

Clarksville’s Tyler Phillips named G-MAC Men’s Golfer of the Month for Trevecca

 

Trevecca Trojans SportsIndianapolis, IN -The men’s golf schedule teed off in September with teams playing in a variety of events, but the month closed out with the first regionally recognized tournament, where Tyler Phillips, from Clarksville Tennessee,  finished second overall and helped the Trojans place third.

For his efforts, Phillips was named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Month for the month of September.
