Austin Peay State University Football team to hold first scrimmage this Saturday

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – After seven practices, Austin Peay State University’s football team will scrimmage for the first time, 9:30am, Saturday, in Governors Stadium.

The scrimmage is open to the public. Entrance is expected to be on the east side or in the north end zone.

APSU Governors Football comes up short in 36-34 loss to Southeast Missouri Redhawks

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s bid for its first 2013 football victory came up short, Saturday afternoon, as Southeast Missouri State University held on for a 36-34 decision in Ohio Valley Conference football action at Governors Stadium.

This was the last football game played in Governors Stadium as it is currently configured.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s football team got down 14-0 to Tennessee Martin after one quarter of play, October 26th at Governors Stadium, on their way to both a Ohio Valley Conference and a Homecoming loss, 38-14.

APSU hosts UT Martin for Homecoming Game Saturday

 

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – This will be Austin Peay’s 69th homecoming–”Blast from the Past” the theme–with the Govs owning a 28-39-1 record in those events. After winning homecoming games in both 2007 and 2008, the Govs have lost the last four homecomings, including a 48-27 defeat to Southeast Missouri a year ago.

APSU has won just seven homecoming games in the past 26 years.

APSU Governors Football falls to Murray State Racers 31-3

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUMurray, KY – Austin Peay State University’s offensive woes continued as it fell to Murray State, 31-3, Saturday, in Ohio Valley Conference action played at Roy Stewart Stadium.

The loss drops APSU to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in the OVC. Meanwhile, the Racers improved to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in OVC play.

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University Governors Football is still seeking its first 2013 victory as they travel to Murray State to take on the Racers Saturday, October 19th.

The Governors enter the contest with 21 straight road losses. Their last road victory came against Tennessee State, a 26-23 verdict, September 18th, 2010.

APSU Governors Football lose Home Opener to Eastern Illinois Panthers, 63-7

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University, playing in its first home game of the 2013 season October 10th at Governors Stadium, saw Ohio Valley Conference opponent Eastern Illinois University score touchdowns on each of its first four drives to help propel the Panthers to a 63-7 victory.

Eastern Illinois (5-1, 2-0 OVC) struck quickly to start the night’s scoring, needing only 80 seconds and five plays to go the 70 yards –with Taylor Duncan taking it the in from 27 yards out for the touchdown and the 7-0 lead.

APSU Governors Football falls to Eastern Kentucky Colonels 38-3

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSURichmond, KY – Battling offensive issues all night, Austin Peay State University’s football team opened Ohio Valley Conference play with a 38-3 loss to Eastern Kentucky, Saturday night, at Roy Kidd Stadium in front of 7,400 fans.

The Governors remained winless overall at 0-5 while Eastern Kentucky improves to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the OVC. It was APSU’s 21st straight road defeat.
