2017 APSU Homecoming King and Queen Crowned

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 22nd Austin Peay State University announced the 2017 APSU Homecoming Court and crowned Homecoming King and Queen on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 during halftime at the Governors football game against Southeast Missouri at Fortera Stadium.

Amber James a Healthcare Management major was crowned Homecoming Queen. James, from Memphis Tennessee, was sponsored by the Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity. She was escorted by her father Henry James.

Amber James was crowned APSU Homecoming Queen and Brandon Herbert was crowned King at the APSU Football game against Southeast Missouri, Saturday.

Plenty of entertainment surrounds APSU Baseball weekend

APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Fans attending any of Austin Peay State University’s baseball games this weekend against Belmont will have plenty of entertainment besides the action on the field. The Austin Peay athletics department has several pregame, in-game and postgame promotions in store for each game of the three-game series.

The entertainment begins before the 6:00pm, Friday series opener with free Govs monocles to the first 100 fans through the game.

Austin Peay State University Greek community has record number attend leadership institute

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – This summer, the North American Interfraternity Conference hosted its 26th Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI) in Bloomington, Indiana, and 17 Austin Peay State University students received scholarships to attend the event, which is the largest attendance for this leadership development institute in the University’s history.

Austin Peay State University’s Chi Omega Chapter Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Chi Omega SororityClarksville, TN – The Sigma Kappa chapter of Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity turns 40 this year. In May of 1972, the Sigma Tao Omega sorority was granted an official charter from Chi Omega, becoming the first national sorority on Austin Peay’s campus.

Since then, through the national organization, this Chi Omega chapter has raised nearly $50,000 for the Make-A-Wish foundation and has donated thousands of volunteer hours to local charities and organizations.

APSU expands Greek system with new Sorority

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – This fall, female students looking to go Greek at Austin Peay State University will have a new social sorority to consider joining.

Alpha Gamma Delta will colonize in the fall, after the Panhellenic Council (representatives from member sororities on campus) at APSU voted during the spring semester to invite the organization to join the campus Greek system.

“We are thrilled that Alpha Gamma Delta will be joining our fraternity and sorority system,” said Brianna Lombardozzi, coordinator of fraternities and sororities at APSU. “We believe Alpha Gamma Delta will make a wonderful addition to our growing community.” «Read the rest of this article»
