Unity Day last Weekend United the City of Clarksville for At Least One Day

 

Clarksville Unity DayClarksville, TN – On Saturday Hilldale Baptist Church played host to third annual Unity Day celebration. The goal of Unity Day is to build a stronger community by recognizing and joining together religious, governmental and business leaders in fellowship.

Unity Day was founded by Treva Gordon, the owner and publisher of the Convenient Shopper Magazine. “I was watching an awards show on television and I was so inspired by the way they honored the pop star’s and the rap artists. It was wonderful; they had the gift bags, bling bling, the limos, and everything that went with it. That was awesome!” she said to herself.

City votes on Clarksville’s Best for the March of Dimes

 

Best of Clarksville PosterClarksville, TN – The Best of Clarksville fundraiser for the March of Dimes is eagerly awaited each year by both businesses and area residents. The fundraiser this year featured 140 businesses in 65 categories; each one looking to score the votes of area residents to be declared The Best of Clarksville. The event consists of local vendor booths, silent auctions, dance performances, free give-a-ways, and a fireworks show by Allen’s Fireworks. All of the money raised is donated to the March of Dimes.

Matthews Nissan Suzuki was the presenting sponsor. Other sponsors included Five Star Radio, Sango Village Florist, US Bank, Cumberland Bank and Trust, FedEx, Allen’s Fireworks, Ad One Advertising, WJZM 1400 AM, and The Leaf-Chronicle.

China King hosts Chinese New Years Celebration on Valentines Day

 

Sunday is the Chinese New Years, which kicks off the Year of the Tiger. In recognition of this, and Valentine’s Day, the China King Buffet is holding a celebration. The festivities will begin at 5:45pm on Sunday with a fireworks show put on by Allen’s Fireworks, followed by a Lion Dance at 6:00pm.

China King also wishes to recognize the support they receive from their customers throughout the year.   To give something back China King is giving all customers 20% off the price of their buffet all day Mon-Thur.
