The Sounds grabbed an early lead and tied it late only to see both disappear. Michael Reed’s two-out, run-scoring base hit in the eighth inning proved to be the difference. Both starters made quick work of the other lineup in the first two innings. Chris Smith and Zach Davies combined to retire the first 12 batters of the game.
