This is the last week to see On the Town at the Roxy Regional Theatre.

 

Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – The Leonard Bernstein musical On the Town is currently playing at the Roxy regional Theatre in historic downtown Clarksville Tennessee. The show runs through October 4th and is definitely worth going to see if you have not yet done so.

This musical extravaganza follows the antics of three sailors at the height of World War II who are heading into the New York City for 24 hours of liberty. Sailors on liberty generally look for the action, maybe a little food, drink, and most definitely a date! You have all heard of the old Navy axiom a girl in every port; well these three sailors try their best to live up to it.

Bea(u)tiful in the Extreme showcases American history at the Rosy Regional Theatre.

 

Bea(u)tiful in the ExtremeClarksville, TN – Taking a chapter out of the history books and bringing it to life is what the Roxy Regional Theatre has done with their production of Bea(u)tiful in the Extreme. The play follows the life of Meriwether Lewis through a series of flashbacks from his youth, the grand journey with William Clark and across a young America, through to his untimely death.

The plot recounts encounters with the hospitable but doomed Mandan people, raging rapids, various pests and pestilences, suspicious Lakota warriors, frozen mountain passes, and York, a slave who is seeking to develop his own ideas of freedom.

The Roxy Regional Theatre brings the spirit of William Shakespeare back to life with their production of Hamlet

 

Roxy Regional TheatreThe Roxy Regional Theatre kicked off their annual production of William Shakespeare’s works with an adaption of the classic Hamlet. The play is a story where a ghost and a prince meet and in the end everyone ends up mincemeat.

Written in the early 1600’s the play is considered today to be the greatest play written in the English language. Containing many of the bards most memorable lines, Hamlet can sometimes be daunting to audiences. This is not the case with the Roxy production; thanks to some very strong acting and great delivery by the primary cast members. The Roxy’s version of Hamlet is very easy to follow and quite enjoyable.
