UT Lady VolsSan Antonio, TX – No. 3 seed Tennessee Women’s Basketball (17-7, 9-4 SEC) and No. 6 seed Michigan (15-5, 9-4 Big Ten) will face one another for the first-time ever on Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 in an NCAA Second Round River Walk Region contest.

The No. 13/15-ranked Lady Vols and No. 16/14 Wolverines are set to play at 5:00pm ET (4:00pm CT) on the North Court at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

UT earned its way to this meeting by winning its First Round battle with Middle Tennessee, 87-62, on Sunday in Austin.

#13/#15 Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball gets 87-62 victory over Middle Tennessee in NCAA Tournament

 

UT Lady VolsAustin, TX – The No. 3 seed Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team shot a scorching 52 percent from the floor to fend off in-state opponent and No. 14 seed Middle Tennessee in the NCAA First Round on Sunday, winning 87-62 at the Frank Erwin Center.  
 
Senior Rennia Davis led No. 13/15-ranked Tennessee (17-7) in scoring, posting a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Junior Rae Burrell was close behind with 22 points, and sophomore Tamari Key and senior Kasiyahna Kushkituah were also in double figures with 13 and 10, respectively. Redshirt junior Jordan Walker narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and a career-high 14 rebounds.

UT Lady VolsAustin, TX – The No. 13/15 Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team (16-7, 9-4 SEC) remains perfect in NCAA Tournament participation, earning the program’s 39th-straight invitation to the “Big Dance.” UT is the only school to appear in every women’s tourney.

The UT Lady Vols were selected as a No. 3 seed in the River Walk Region and will meet No. 14 seed Middle Tennessee (17-7) in the NCAA First Round on Sunday. Tip-off is slated for 2:00pm ET (1:00pm CT) at the Frank Erwin Center on the University of Texas campus. The game will be televised by ABC and carried by the Lady Vol Radio Network.

#14/16 Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball faces #7/7 South Carolina at SEC Tournament

UT Lady VolsGreenville, SC – No. 14/16 Tennessee (16-6, 9-4 SEC), the No. 3 seed, has advanced to the semifinal round of the SEC Tournament and will meet No. 7/7 South Carolina (20-4, 14-2 SEC), the No. 2 seed, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

No. 1 seed Texas A&M and No. 4 seed Georgia will meet in the other semifinal round match-up at 3:00pm CT on Saturday.

The Tennessee Lady Vols will be making their first appearance in the SEC semifinal round since 2016, when they did so in Jacksonville, FL, before falling to Mississippi State, 58-48.

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 14/16 Tennessee women’s basketball (15-6, 9-4 SEC), which earned the No. 3 seed by virtue of its third-place regular-season finish, will open play on Friday night at the SEC Tournament in Greenville, SC.

The Lady Vols will face the winner of Thursday’s game between sixth-seeded #13/13 Arkansas (19-7, 9-6 SEC) and No. 11 seed Ole Miss (10-10, 4-10 SEC) at approximately 7:15pm CT on Friday at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

In head-to-head match-ups this season, UT defeated (then) No. 13/13 Arkansas, 88-73, on January 7th in Knoxville and erased a 13-point deficit to beat Ole Miss in Knoxville, 68-67, on January 28th.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 20/21 Tennessee women’s basketball team (14-6, 8-4 SEC) and Auburn (5-17, 0-14 SEC) will meet at 1:02pm CT on Sunday in the regular season finale for both teams at Thompson-Boling Arena.

The match-up will be UT’s last home game of the year as well as Senior Day for Lady Vols Rennia Davis, Kasiyahna Kushkituah and Jaiden McCoy. The Tennessee trio will be honored prior to the game.

Also being recognized during the contest will be graduate managers Caleb Currier and Josh Theis, manager Elizabeth Wong, student athletic trainer Olivia Nicholas and practice player Hunter Huff.

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 20/21 Tennessee (13-6, 7-4 SEC) embarks on the final road trip and last week of the 2020-21 regular season, traveling to Columbia for a Thursday evening battle with Missouri (8-9/4-8 SEC). The Lady Vols and Tigers will tip it off at 7:02pm CT (8:02pm ET) at Mizzou Arena.

After facing ranked teams in its last four games, UT will play against a pair of unranked Tiger teams at MU on Thursday and vs. Auburn on Sunday to wrap things up prior to the SEC Tournament.

UT is holding down fourth place in the SEC standings and is trying to seize one of the double byes for the league tourney after being predicted to finish sixth in the preseason coaches and media polls.

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 21/21 Tennessee women’s basketball team (13-5, 7-3 SEC) is back in action on Sunday, traveling to Athens to take on No. 22/23 Georgia (16-4/8-4 SEC) in a 1:02pm CT matinee at Stegeman Coliseum.

It will mark the second meeting this season between the squads, with the Bulldogs erasing a 17-point, third-quarter deficit to walk away with a 67-66 decision in Knoxville back on January 14th.

The Lady Vols sit in third place in the SEC standings, followed by Georgia and Kentucky in fourth at 8-4, so postseason tournament top-four seedings are up for grabs on Sunday. UK, the other team in that equation, is at South Carolina. UT (7-3) is one of only three SEC teams with three losses or fewer in conference play (along with first-place South Carolina [12-1] and second-place Texas A&M [10-1]).

# 21/21 Tennessee Women’s Basketball upsets #2/3 South Carolina, 75-67

 

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – Senior Rennia Davis turned in 24 second-half points, as No. 21/21 Tennessee women’s basketball team erased a 12-point halftime deficit to upset No. 2/3 South Carolina in Thompson-Boling Arena, 75-67.
 
The win snapped a 31-game SEC win streak for the Gamecocks and marked UT’s first victory over a top-five team since taking an 82-75 win over No. 2/4 Texas, 82-75, in Knoxville on December 10th, 2017.
 
Davis added 12 rebounds to record the 36th double-double of her career. Junior Rae Burrell was also in double figures for Tennessee (13-5, 7-3 SEC) with 19 points, and sophomore Jordan Horston pitched in 12 points and five assists with no turnovers on the night.

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 21/21 Tennessee (12-5, 6-3 SEC) is happily back at home on Thursday following an adventure-filled road trip to Texas. The UT Lady Vols will play host to No. 2/3 South Carolina (17-2/12-0) at 6:02pm CT in Thompson-Boling Arena.

Thursday’s contest is the annual Live Pink, Bleed Orange game, which brings attention to the fight against breast cancer and provides recognition to the fighters and survivors of the disease.

UT is in the midst of a rigorous stretch of facing four ranked opponents in a span of 11 days, including three on the road. The Lady Vols played at No. 20/18 Kentucky on Thursday, drove home on icy roads, and played at No. 6/5 Texas A&M on Sunday.
