Clarksville Obituary: Peggy Jean Austin

April 10th, 1937 – June 6th, 2026

Gateway Funeral Home and Cremation ServicesClarksville, TN – Peggy Jean Austin, 89, entered into eternal rest on June 6th, 2026. She was born on April 10th, 1937, in Clarksville, Tennessee, to Myrtle Baggett and Robert Baggett, and she lived a life marked by faith, kindness, and love for others.

Peggy found joy in attending the Ajax Turner Senior Center, where she also gave her time as a volunteer. She treasured being with friends, offering a helping hand, and sharing the warmth and kindness that made her so special to those around her.

Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, William Lewis Austin, Sr.; her parents; and her siblings, all of whom she held close in her heart. Peggy leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory always: her children, Carol (Ronnie) Davis, Lew (Soco) Austin, Jr., Elizabeth (Andy) Kamm, Kevin (Dorothy) Austin, and Cathy (Rick) Collins; along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many dear friends and loved ones whose lives were blessed by knowing her.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Gentiva Hospice, especially Cindy, Emma, and Porsche, for the compassion, comfort, and tender care they gave their mother in her final days. Their kindness will never be forgotten.

Our mother was a strong, faithful, and loving woman whose heart was always open to her family and friends. She loved deeply, gave generously, and will be missed more than words can express.
