Central Civitan’s 111th Lone Oak Picnic has fantastic turnout

 

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – Last Saturday, July 27th, 2019, the Central Civitan held the 111th Annual Lone Oak Picnic at the Central Civitan Club building located at 275 Highway 13.

This free event featured live music, inflatables for the kids, face painting, silent auction, a car cruise in and off course the BBQ the picnic is famous for.

Great day, great crowd, great weather, one hundred and eleven years of doing this and going strong,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson. “This is one of the biggest and best organized community events that I have ever been to in Montgomery County. Talking to other Sheriffs that go to events across the state, they say the same thing.”

111th Annual Lone Oak Picnic set for Saturday, July 27th

 

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 27th, 2019, the 111th Annual Lone Oak Picnic will be held from 10:00am to 2:00pm. It will take place on the grounds surrounding Central Civitan Club’s building at 275 Highway 13 in Cunningham, TN. Free parking will be off of Alonzo Place.

Free and open to the public, the Picnic will include musical entertainment from father-son duo Back Lot Pickers and other musical guests. Children will enjoy inflatables and face painting. A car cruise-in and silent auction will round out the entertainment.

Central Civitan held their annual BBQ Chicken Dinner fundraiser, Saturday

 

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – It was overcast and looked like rain this past Saturday, April 27th for the Central Civitan annual BBQ Chicken Dinner fundraiser. The rain held off and it turned into a great day for the event.

“It looked like it might rain at first, but it didn’t. It was a nice cool day for our fundraiser,” stated Larry Pitts with Central Civitan.

The dinners were take home only and included a 1/2 chicken, with baked beans, slaw, and a beverage. Each adult plate was just $8.00. Pick up was at the Central Civitan building located between Hwy 13 and Alonzo Place in Cunningham, TN.

Annual Lone Oak Picnic

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN –  This Saturday, July 28th, 2018 the 110th Lone Oak Picnic will take place in Cunningham, TN from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The event will be held rain or shine.

All proceeds from the Lone Oak Picnic benefit schools, fire departments, persons in need, etc. in southern Montgomery County. The Lone Oak Picnic is hosted by the Central Civitan Club.

Come out and enjoy entertainment, meet public officials, and purchase excellent chicken and pork barbecue. The picnic grounds are located between Hwy 13 and Alonzo Place in Cunningham, TN.

109th annual Lone Oak Picnic a big hit with the Community

 

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – The Central Civitan Club held the 109th annual Lone Oak Picnic at the Central Civitan Building on Saturday, July 29th, 2017. The event started at 10:00am and went on until around 3:00pm.

People from all around stopped by for great food, entertainment, and good conversation. Even though it was not an election year, there was a great turnout for the event.

“We really appreciate everyone being here. We had a really good crowd this year. If you weren’t able to be here, I’m sorry you missed it. Maybe you can be here next year,” said Larry Pitts with Central Civitan.

2nd annual Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5k Run/Walk/Crawl exceeds expectations

 

Wade Morgan - Be More Like WadeCunningham, TN – Last Saturday, July 30th, 2016 the 2nd annual “Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5K Run/Walk/Crawl” was held at the Montgomery Central Schools in honor of Wade Morgan. The race began at 8:30am.

All proceeds go into a scholarship fund which will be given to a Montgomery Central Senior who demonstrates similar characteristics of #bemorelikewade. He exemplified the true meaning of a genuine person by being a selfless individual and always having an optimistic outlook on life.

108th annual Lone Oak Picnic Simply Wonderful

 

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 30th, 2016 the Central Civitan Club hosted the 108th annual Lone Oak Picnic at the Central Civitan Building. The event began at 10:00am and went on until around 3:00pm.

There was plenty of good conversations, entertainment and great food to go around. Those running for office were allowed to address everyone in attendance starting at 11:00am.

“We had a pretty good crowd this year. Appreciate everyone being here. If you weren’t able to be here, I’m sorry you missed it. Maybe you can be here next year,” said Larry Pitts with Central Civitan.

Clarksville City Judge Charles Smith spoke at 108th annual Lone Oak Picnic

 

Election 2016Cunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 30th, 2016 City Judge Charles Smith talked at the 108th annual Lone Oak Picnic put on by the Central Civitan Club.

“I am the City Judge. I have had the privilege of being in that positive for 15 years now. I am on the ballot in November,” Smith stated.

“I have talked to a couple of folks out here today that said they had voted for me. I appreciate that vote. But, it’s so confusing that you have some judicial races on the August ballot and the city judge race is on the ballot in November,” said Smith. “Remember in November as your voting for other candidates, when you get to the city judge position, vote for Charles Smith.”
