Clarksville Gas and Water announces Water Main Installation Work to Close Locust Street

 

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department (CGW) will start a month long 6-inch water main installation contract project on Locust Street on Monday, July 8th, 2019.

The work will close Locust Street to through traffic daily, Monday-Friday, at 7:00am until 5:30pm from Providence Boulevard to E Street.

American Red Cross to offer Free Smoke Alarms in Clarksville

Clarksville firefighters to join Sound the Alarm event April 27th

American Red CrossClarksville, TN – American Red Cross and Clarksville Fire Rescue volunteers will visit homes to help install free smoke alarms during a national effort against home fires.

The local home fire safety and smoke alarm installation event, known as Sound the Alarm, will begin at 9:00am Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 303 Market Street.

Clarksville Ceremony to mark unveiling of Pastor Jimmy Terry, Sr. Memorial Highway

Tennessee State Representative - District 67Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, July 19th, 2018 at 10:00am  a ceremony will be held to officially designate the naming of a portion of Hwy 41A North, also known as Providence Boulevard, as the Pastor Jimmy Terry, Sr. Memorial Highway at First Baptist Church in Clarksville. 

A presentation of the signage marking the designation will be made to Sister Servella Terry, widow of the late Pastor Jimmy Terry, and she will also make remarks at the event.

The Montgomery County delegation of the Tennessee General Assembly sought passage of the bill to honor the life, legacy and memory of Pastor Terry after his passing in June 2017. 

A portion of Hwy 41A North, known as Providence Boulevard, will be renamed to the Pastor Jimmy Terry, Sr. Memorial Highway.

Portion of Clarksville’s Providence Boulevard to be Designated Pastor Jimmy Terry, Sr. Highway

Tennessee State Representative - District 67Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County delegation of the Tennessee General Assembly is pleased to announce an amendment to the legislature’s highway and bridge naming bill has been filed to designate a portion of Providence Boulevard will be named in memory of Pastor Jimmy Terry, Sr. The designated section will begin at the Red River Bridge and continue up Boot Hill and end at Peachers Mill Road.

Pastor Terry, a beloved and iconic citizen of Clarksville and Montgomery County died in June 2017. Pastor Terry was the pastor of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church on Market Street in Clarksville, and he and his wife, Sister Servella Terry, founded the Tabernacle Christian School sharing a campus with the church.

Clarksville Police report Lane Closed on Providence Boulevard due to Sink Hole

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police report that there is a sink hole on Providence Boulevard near Market Street, Northbound travel in that area is down to a single lane. Repair is underway.

Please avoid the area if possible, expect traffic delays and watch out for workers.

Clarksville Police take Timothy Hutcherson into Custody

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Sunday, September 24th, 2017 around 3:50pm, Clarksville Police located Timothy Hutcherson in the Market Street area and took him into custody without incident.

Hutcherson had an aggravated assault warrant on file for an incident that occurred on September 21st, 2017.

Clarksville Police Officers responded to 1671 Fort Campbell Boulevard for a fight in progress with shots fired.

Clarksville Police have located and arrested Timothy Hutcherson.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Market Street Water Outage and Road Closure

 

Thursday, June 8th, 2017

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service and closed a section of Market Street from Rainbow Street to Mitchell Street to replace a water valve.

The water outage will also affect Mitchell Street and Beach Street. Area residents may also experience low water pressure during the work.
