Clarksville Department of ElectricityClarksville, TN – As of 8:30am Friday April 29th, approximately 600 customers are without power. All available CDE personnel are working on the outage.

Walker Street Water Outage

 

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – A Gas and Water construction crew turned off water service at 9:00am this morning on Walker Street to replace an eight-inch water valve. Service will be disrupted on Walker from New Providence Boulevard to Duncan Street and on B Street from Walker to Locust Street. B Street will also be closed to through traffic from Locust to Walker.

Work is expected to be complete and the street reopened at 1:00pm.  Motorists will be detoured to Locust and B streets.

Walker Street Water Outage

 

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

Clarksville Gas and WaterClarksville, TN – A Gas and Water construction crew will turn off water service tomorrow morning at 8:00am to 2:00pm on Walker Street from New Providence Boulevard to A Street. Walker and a section of B Street from Locust Street to Walker Street will be closed to traffic while workers replace an eight-inch water valve.

Area residents may experience low water pressure during the outage. Motorists will be detoured to A and B streets.

Man Charged With Vehicular Assault

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – An early morning crash on December 26th sent a woman to the hospital in critical condition. Around 2:50am, Olegraio Martinez-Casimiro, 43, of Clarksville was driving a 2004 GMC Envoy North on Providence Blvd (Boot Hill), crossed over into the southbound lanes, and collided head-on with a 2007 Ford Focus driven by Whitney Bouie, 21, of Clarksville.

Officer John Reyes was the lead investigator and determined Martinez-Casimiro had consumed five beers prior to driving the vehicle and that his license was suspended for previous traffic-related charges. Initially, Martinez-Casimiro did not want medical attention, but after being transported to Montgomery County Jail, he complained of neck pain. He was taken to the hospital and medically cleared. Martinez-Casimiro was wearing a seat belt.

Police release name of pedestrian killed in Providence Blvd crash

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team was called out to a crash on Providence Blvd on 10/30/10, around 9:08pm.  

A 57 year old Hispanic male, of Clarksville was walking in the left southbound lane of Providence Blvd when a 98 Dodge Stratus driven by Devita Shaw, 35, of Clarksville was traveling in the southbound lane of Providence Blvd and collided with the pedestrian, walking in the lane, around the 900 Block of Providence Blvd.  The driver of the vehicle did not see the pedestrian in the lane.

The Hispanic male died at the scene. The name of the pedestrian killed on the Providence Blvd crash is Abundio Sanchez, date of birth 7-11-53 of Clarksville.

Officer Andy Bechtold is the lead investigator, 931-320-3741.  The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

Streetlight Replacement Project Gets Underway – Drivers Beware

 

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville has contracted Stones River Electric to replace 360 streetlight fixtures with LED streetlight fixtures as part of a Federal Department of Energy Grant to the city. 

The project is currently scheduled to begin Monday September 27th and be complete by Friday October 15th.  The schedule may be lengthened due to weather or other factors. «Read the rest of this article»

Water outage and road closure on Providence Boulevard

 

Monday, August 16th, 2010, 8:00pm.

Clarksville Gas & Water DepartmentProvidence Boulevard will be closed to one lane of traffic from Oak Street to Peachers Mill Road beginning Monday, August 16th, at 7:00pm to Tuesday morning at approximately 7:00am. Gas and Water construction crews will continue water valve replacement work on the boulevard at the Oak Street intersection.

Water service will also be disrupted from 8:00pm to approximately 6:00am for Providence Boulevard from Oak Street to Peachers Mill Road including Oak Street, Plum Street, Beech Street, D Street, Chapel Street from Beech to Locust, and E Street from Providence Boulevard to Oak Street.

Water Outage and Partial Road Closure on Providence Boulevard

 

Thursday, August 12th, 7:00pm.

Clarksville Gas & Water DepartmentProvidence Boulevard will be closed to one lane of traffic from Oak Street to Peachers Mill Road beginning Thursday, August 12th, at 7:00pm to early Friday morning at 3:00am while Gas and Water construction workers replace two water valves near the intersection of Providence Boulevard and Powers Street.

This section of Providence Boulevard will be without water service during the repair work and will include E Street from the Boulevard to Oak Street and from Oak Street to D Street during the repair work.

Resurfacing New Providence Blvd. – Ft. Campbell Blvd, SR-12 / 41A

 

Traffic Alert / Resurfacing Project Clarksville, TN

Tennessee Department of TransportationAs of August 2nd, 2010:  The road resurfacing project is scheduled to begin, on or around, August 8th, 2010.  This work will consist of the milling and paving of New Providence Blvd. and Fort Campbell Blvd. in Clarksville TN, from the Red River Bridge to SR-374 overpass at 101st Parkway – State Route 12 / US 41A. 

There will be lane closures and stoppage of traffic on a nightly basis until this work is complete sometime around September 30th, 2010.  Motorists can expect some major delays on a daily and nightly basis.  The majority of this work is scheduled to be performed at night at this time, seven days a week.  «Read the rest of this article»
