APSU FootballWaco, TX – The American Football Coaches Association named Austin Peay State University (APSU) head football coach Mark Hudspeth its Region 3 Football Championship Subdivision Coach of the Year, Tuesday. Hudspeth becomes the first Austin Peay coach to earn the regional honor from the coaches association.

APSU Football’s Mark Hudspeth named OVC Coach of the Year, 11 Govs receive Honors

 

APSU FootballBrentwood, TN – A program-record 11 Austin Peay State University (APSU) football players earned postseason honors from the Ohio Valley Conference, befitting their status as league champions for 2019.

In addition, Mark Hudspeth became the second Austin Peay State University head coach in three seasons to earn Roy Kidd OVC Coach of the Year honors after the Govs won the league and earned the program’s first playoff berth in his first season at the helm.

APSU Women’s Tennis coach Ross Brown named OVC Coach of the Year, Five Govs earn All OVC Honors

 

APSU Women's TennisNashville, TN – Five members of the Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s tennis team earned All-Ohio Valley Conference honors, along with head coach Ross Brown winning the Coach of the Year award, as announced at the conference banquet, Thursday.

Brown earns his second career OVC Coach of the Year honor, adding to the 2015 award he won with the men’s program.

APSU Women's VolleyballMurfreesboro, TN – After sweeping its opening weekend road trip, Austin Peay State University (APSU)’s volleyball team returns to the road for a Friday-Saturday stay at the MT Blue Raider Bash.

The Governors open the tournament with a 7:00pm, Friday, August 31st, 2018 contest against host Middle Tennessee that can be seen on C-USA’s Digital Network. Austin Peay then faces Stetson and Troy in Saturday action to conclude their stay in Murfreesboro, TN.

The first meeting between the two programs will be televised nationally by ESPN, with Beth Mowins, Anthony Becht and Rocky Boiman on the call.

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU)’s volleyball team lifts the lid on its 2018 schedule, Friday-Saturday, when it competes in the UMKC Kangaroo Klassic in Kansas City, Missouri.

The two-day, three-match affair will see the Governors face off against South Dakota State, Western Michigan and UMKC to begin the season. It is the first of four pre-conference tournament Austin Peay will compete in this season.

APSU Men's BasketballClarksville, TN – After a first season which featured a third-place turnaround and Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year honors, Austin Peay State University head men’s basketball coach Matt Figger has announced the 2018-19 schedule for the Govs.

The 13-game non-conference schedule will feature two in-season tournaments and the longest stretch of road games in program history—a 30-day, seven-game, four-state, two-country jaunt from November 9th-December 8th.

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) football team will report to fall camp on Thursday, August 2nd, 2018 and begin practicing on Friday, August 3rd.

Many contributors return from last season’s squad that finished 8-4 and in second place in the Ohio Valley Conference. They will be joined Thursday by a group of talented newcomers looking to build on the success of last year’s team.

APSU FootballNashville, TN – The APSU football team was picked to finish second in the Ohio Valley Conference by the league’s coaches and sports information directors, the OVC announced at its annual Media Day, Monday.

The Austin Peay State University Governors enter the 2018 season with a tremendous amount of momentum after posting one of the greatest turnaround seasons in FBS history in 2017.
