APSU Women's TennisClarksville, TN – After picking up their second-straight win to start the season last weekend, Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s tennis is set to play a Saturday, February 27th match at 11:00am against Middle Tennessee at the Adams Tennis Complex in Murfreesboro Tennessee.

Austin Peay State University Women’s Tennis begins 2021 Season Sunday against Central Arkansas

 

APSU Women's TennisClarksville, TN – After last year’s title-defense season for Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s tennis was abruptly ended, the reigning 2018-19 Ohio Valley Conference Champions will take the court for the first time in 331 days when they host Central Arkansas for a 12:00pm, Sunday, January 24th, 2021 match at the indoor courts at Hadley Park in Nashville.

Austin Peay State University Athletics has record 168 Govs named to OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsBrentwood, TN – Another record in the books for Austin Peay State University (APSU) student-athletes, with 168 Govs among an Ohio Valley Conference-record 1,625 league athletes named to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Wednesday, August 5th, 2020.

For the fifth time since 2001, the department has put more than 100 student-athletes on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll. The 168 student-athletes honored for 2019-20 set a department record for the third straight year.

Austin Peay State University Athletics Program has record 34 Govs earn OVC Academic Medal of Honor

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) student-athletes’ took down another departmental academic record Tuesday, August 4th, 2020 as 34 Governors received the Ohio Valley Conference’s Academic Medal of Honor.

The 34 Austin Peay State University student-athletes awarded the 2019-20 OVC Academic Medal of Honor each carried a perfect 4.0 grade-point average for the academic year. The award recognized those conference student-athletes who achieve the highest GPA in a conference-sponsored sport. The league recognized a record 285 recipients of the Academic Medal of Honor in 2019-20.

APSU Tennis has Twelve Governors earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsTempe, AZ – Twelve Austin Peay State University (APSU) tennis student-athletes were recognized for their academic accomplishments as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete, Monday. Both the Governors men and women’s tennis programs were named ITA All-Academic Teams as well.

Six members of the men’s team – Christian Edison, Jacob Lorino, Anton Damberg, Julius Gold, Oliver Andersson, and Thiago Nogueira – posted a GPA of at least 3.50 to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition.

166 APSU Student Athletes earn a spot on Spring 2020 Dean’s List

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) is proud to recognize more than 2,500 students who were named to the Dean’s List for academic achievement during the Spring 2020 semester.

The APSU Governors had 166 student-athletes named to the Dean’s List, which is 60 more than in the previous fall semester, despite all of the obstacles these student-athletes were faced with during the spring semester.

APSU Athletes continue success in classroom during Coronavirus pandemic

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) student-athletes continued their recent string of success in the classroom, the department announcing its 297 athletes combined to post a 3.292 grade-point average during the Spring 2020 semester.

It is the sixth consecutive semester the APSU athletics department has posted a 3.0 GPA or better and the eighth time in department history. In addition, each of the 15 varsity teams recorded a 3.0 GPA for the second consecutive semester.

“I must commend all of our student-athletes for their accomplishments in the classroom,” said APSU Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison.
