Tennessee Highway Patrol to conduct Sobriety Checkpoint Decemer 28th, 2018

 

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPMontgomery County, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a sobriety roadside safety checkpoint on Friday, December 28th, 2018 on Highway 48 south of Hawkins Road in Montgomery County.

Impaired driving is a serious crime that kills more than 16,000 people and injures 305,000 others, every year, in the United States. Troopers, deputies, and officers will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol impairment. Troopers, deputies, and officers will target those who operate a vehicle while impaired and take corrective actions for other violations observed, while ensuring the protection of all motorists.

Clarksville Police Department’s Traffic Unit receives Three Awards

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department’s traffic unit has dedicated itself to making the roadways in Clarksville safer for it citizens.

The traffic unit’s hard work and efforts were recognized at the Tennessee Lifesaver Conference.  They were the recipients of three auspicious awards.

Clarksville Police Department Increases DUI Enforcement During Statewide Initiative

 

“Booze It & Lose It” Sweeps Tennessee to Prevent Alcohol-Related Crashes

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) to increase DUI enforcement across Tennessee from August 19th to Labor Day as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s nationwide mobilization against drunk driving.

In 2015, Tennessee lost 239 lives to alcohol-related traffic crashes, according to the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security’s TITAN Division. Thus far in 2016, Tennessee has experienced 118 alcohol-related fatalities.

Clarksville Police Lieutenant Philip Ashby receives a Governor’s Highway Safety Office Partnership Award

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On, Friday, December 13th, 2013, Clarksville Police Department Lieutenant Philip Ashby was presented a Partnership Award, by Tony Burnett (Middle Tennessee Region Law Enforcement Liaison) of the Governor’s Highway Safety Office (GHSO).

The award was for the work of the Clarksville Police Department’s Traffic Unit in the, June 28th, 2013, Hands Across the Border Sobriety Checkpoint, and the Unit’s assistance to the Tennessee Highway Patrol and area law enforcement agencies in conducting Sobriety Checkpoints and D.U.I. enforcement.

Clarksville Police to conduct DUI Sobriety Checkpoint and Saturation Patrols along Fort Campbell Boulevard July 27th

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department will be conducting a roadside DUI Sobriety checkpoint on July 27th, 2012 on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

The Clarksville Police Department is also conducting city-wide impaired driving saturation patrols, July 27th and 28th, 10:00pm – 4:00am.  The intent of saturation patrols is to detect and apprehend impaired drivers through increased traffic enforcement.

The checkpoint and saturation patrols are being funded, in part, by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.

Clarksville Police Department Sobriety Checkpoint and Alcohol Saturation Results for May 25th, 2012

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, and the Clarksville Police Department sobriety checkpoint and alcohol saturation patrols on May 25th, 2012 were very busy to say the least.

The combined efforts of the law enforcement agencies, as well the paramedics on scene were instrumental in the operation going off without a hitch. The sobriety checkpoint and alcohol saturation patrols were partially funded by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office.
