Nashville Predators win a wild one in over-time against the St. Louis Blues 3-2

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators got off to a hot start tonight against the St. Louis Blues, then hung on to win a thriller in over-time, 3-2.

Daniel Carr who has been tearing up the AHL this season, was brought up to the Predators to replace Viktor Arvidsson who was injured on Saturday night, and netted the game winner in a shoot-out for the win.

The Predators knew that the Blues would be gunning for them tonight after suffering a loss at home on Saturday night, and this game didn’t disappoint.

Nashville Predators fall to the Colorado Avalanche 9-4

Nashville PredatorsDenver, CO – The Nashville Predators suffered one of the most humiliating losses tonight at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche, 9-4.  The nine goals against is a franchise record for the Predators in their NHL history.

In a game that, on paper at least, is one that Nashville was expected to win, it was just the opposite as the Avs put the pressure on Nashville right from the start.

With a back up goalie and several of their top line stars out of the line-up, Colorado played like a team on a mission to prove that they could play without their high dollar players, and they did.

Nashville Predators fall to the New York Rangers 2-1

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators dropped their second game in a row today, falling to the New York Rangers 2-1 in an afternoon affair at the Bridgestone Arena.

As the Predators prepare to take a four game road trip, the current state of their game doesn’t offer much encouragement as they hit the road.

New York has now won four of their last five games, leaving the Predators scratching their heads over their lack of offensive production as the leading offensive team in the NHL.

Nashville Predators fall to the Los Angeles Kings 7-4

Nashville PredatorsLos Angeles, CA – It looked like the Nashville Predators were poised to make another dramatic comeback today against the L.A Kings, only to fall short in a wild “Hollywood” affair, 7-4.

Nashville drew first blood at 4:55 of the opening period when Mikael Granlund netted a goal over the shoulder of Kings goaltender Jack Campbell and the Predators took a 1-0 lead.

That’s when the Kings took over the game.  L.A outworked the Predators through the first two periods and into the second intermission, were leading Nashville 4-1.

Nashville Predators fall to Detroit Red Wings 5-3

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators lost to the Detroit Red Wings tonight, 5-3.  Nashville just never could get a leg up on the Wings as they were having to come back all night long.

Coming off of an opening night win over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night, the Predators came into Bridgestone Arena with a lot of momentum, but they have always had trouble with Detroit and especially with Red Wings net minder, Jimmy Howard.

Todd Bertuzzi scored his first of two goals at 10:29 of the first period on a wrist shot that beat starting Predators goalie, Juuse Saros for the early 1-0 lead.  The Wings then made it 2-0 at 11:40 of the opening frame when Anthony Mantha slipped a back hand into the net.

Nashville Predators win a thriller against the Vancouver Canucks, 3-2, sit atop the central division

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – Things looked pretty bleak for the Nashville Predators tonight after the first intermission, trailing the lowly Vancouver Canucks, 2-0.  With Nashville in a real battle for the central division title of the Western Conference, and the St. Louis Blues bearing down on the Preds, this game had real significance.

Not only does Nashville want to win their division, but they want home ice advantage throughout the Stanley Cup playoffs and it all seemed to be slipping away in this game tonight.

First, Markus Granlund backhanded the puck past Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne after taking a perfect pass from Quinn Hughes and the Canucks led 1-0.
