Nashville Predators continue their slide with loss to the Anaheim Ducks 4-2

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators just can’t score goals as they continue to dig themselves a huge hole, trying to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs, losing to the Anaheim Ducks tonight, 4-2.

Juuse Saros took the loss in goal for Nashville, while John Gibson gets the win in Smashville.  Saros faced 27 shots on goal, while Gibson took 35 on net.

Josh Manson got the scoring started for the Ducks, taking a cross-ice feed from Ondrej Kase at 10:01, for the wrist shot that beat Saros and the early 1-0 lead.

Adam Henrique grabbed the loose puck in front of Saros for the easy tap in to extend the Anaheim lead 2-0, at 12:22.

Viktor Arvidsson got the Predators on the board at 13:56 as he redirected a Roman Josi shot from the point to beat Gibson, and Nashville pulled to within a goal, 2-1.

Into the second period, the only goal scored came from Anaheim as Rickard Rakell crashes the net and took the Ryan Getzlaf rebound to put the Ducks two goals up, 3-1.

Anaheim would extend their lead in the third period when Derek Grant scored a short handed goal for the 4-1 lead.  Nashville would add another score at 15:22 of the final frame to give us the final score, 4-2.

Nashville is woefully stuck at 49 points, desperately trying to find it’s way into a wild card spot before the playoffs.  The Predators are 2-5 so far this month, with another chance Saturday night against the visiting Buffalo Sabres.

Puck drops at 7:00pm.
