City of Clarksville Offices closed Tuesday, January 16th

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville City Government offices will be closed Tuesday, January 16th, 2018 because of the 4-6 inches of snow that fell overnight, creating hazardous travel conditions across the City, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announced.

City Public Safety departments will be on duty as usual and all essential City services will continue.

Clarksville-Montgomery County under Winter Storm Warning today, Tuesday, January 16th

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service has upgraded the Clarksville-Montgomery County area as well as Middle Tennessee from a Winter Storm Advisory to a Winter Storm Warning. Snow has fallen overnight for Clarksville-Montgomery County making for hazardous travel conditions.

Snow is currently falling and expected to continue all day Tuesday with a chance of flurries tonight and Wednesday.

A band of snow was located across northwestern and north central Middle Tennessee early this morning, and is forecast to continue moving southeastward during the day.

Freezing Rain and Sleet expected across Clarksville-Montgomery County Friday morning

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Clarksville-Montgomery County and parts of Middle Tennessee that is in effect from 5:00am Friday Morning, January 12th until 9:00pm Friday Night.

Precipitation will begin to transition from rain to freezing rain and sleet around 5:00am Friday morning.

For the northwestern counties of Middle Tennessee, a system will move in Friday morning bringing rain that will transition shortly before sunrise to a mix of freezing rain and sleet, and then to all snow by the mid morning hours, with snow lasting into Friday evening.

Clarksville-Montgomery County expected to see 6 to 10 inches of Snow

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued a winter storm warning for Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as most of Middle Tennessee through Saturday morning. A winter weather advisory is in effect for the far southern counties of Middle Tennessee through Saturday morning.

It is currently snowing in Clarksville-Montgomery County with 18 MPH winds out of the North. It is 26°F outside and the high today will be 32°F. Power lines are covered in ice from freezing rain early this morning. Some trees, limbs and power lines may be knocked down creating scattered power outages in the area.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued a winter storm warning for snow and ice which is in effect from 6:00pm Friday to 6:00am CT Saturday for Clarksville-Montgomery County and most of Middle Tennessee.

A potent weather system will move into the region tonight offering up quite a bit of rain. But, as we get into the pre dawn hours on Friday, cold air supportive of wintry weather will begin to move into Middle Tennessee.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued a winter storm warning for snow and ice which is in effect from 6:00pm Friday to 6:00am CT Saturday for Clarksville-Montgomery County.

Snow accumulations from 4 to 8 inches are possible with locally higher amounts. Ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch are possible, especially for counties closest to the Kentucky state line.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm warning for 3 to 5 inches of snow with some light ice accumulation for Clarksville-Montgomery County which is in effect from 3:00pm Wednesday until 9:00am CST Thursday.

The winter storm watch is no longer in effect.
