Since 9/11, more than 2 million American service people have deployed overseas. For many military families, the almost unbearable strain makes the moment theyre finally reunited that much sweeter.

Increasingly, these moments are being captured on video, often by the service person and a complicit friend or family member, giving rise to a whole new YouTube genre: the surprise soldier homecoming video.

The Fort Campbell footage used was shot by Mark Haynes, of Clarksville Online. It is from the June 17th, 2011 Welcome Home Ceremony for 13 soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment and 138 soldiers from the 541st Transport Company.
