Banks, a 6-4 center, will play this season at Ballard High School in Louisville after missing her junior season following a transfer from Shawnee High School. Despite sitting out the year, she was selected to Kentucky Junior All-Star Basketball Team. Banks also played for the Kentucky Lady Retros AAU basketball team during the summer.

“Tearra will bring size to our frontcourt that will be a great addition,” said Lady Govs head coach Carrie Daniels. “She moves extremely well and has great hands. If you get her the ball down low she is going to find a way to score or draw the foul.  She gives us an inside presence that every team needs.”

Ranked No. 22 recruit in Kentucky in a USA Today poll of state girls basketball head coaches – one of three Austin Peay recruits listed (Emily Fox and Beth Rates). She also was ranked one of the Top 12 players in Kentucky last season by Rick Bolus’ Recruiting Service.
