Customs House Museum to host Annual Flying High Fundraiser Saturday, June 7th

Clarksville's Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – Held the first Saturday of June each year, Flying High is an evening celebrating regional artists, many whom are recognized award-winners in their media.

Flying High is Customs House Museum’s preeminent fundraiser of the year, supporting educational and exhibit programming of the Museum.

This year’s annual Flying High gala will be held on June 7th at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center at Liberty Park, 1188 Cumberland Drive, Clarksville, Tennessee 37040.

Museum Guild members Mary Turner and Jamie Durrett serve as event Chair and Co-Chair.

Customs House Museum will be celebrating with the French Quarter flair of New Orleans, masquerade style. Dinner and dancing follow a silent and live auction featuring art, travel packages, and products and services from the Clarksville region.

Live entertainment will be provided by the band Emerald Empire. For the first time in Flying High’s history, artwork that will be up for bidding in both the live and silent auction can be viewed online!

Over thirty pieces of artwork are available for sneak peak in the online auction catalog on the museum’s website at www.customshousemuseum.org

This year’s signature artist is Jennifer Bowman. Her piece “Shine Bright” is an original abstract mixed media. Jennifer Bowman’s mixed medium paintings are exhibited throughout the southeast. Her work has been shown on HGTV and is included in the collections of Nashville stores such as Taylor York, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, and Holly Williams. She is represented by Bennett Galleries in Nashville. Jennifer lives in Hopkinsville, KY.

Tickets to this event are $125.00 for Museum members, and $175.00 for non-members. To purchase ticket(s), please contact Linda Maki at 931.648.5780. The evening starts at 5:00 p.m. with the silent auction. Dinner is at 7:00pm, followed by the live auction at 8:00pm. Music and dancing conclude the evening.

The Museum will be closed Saturday, June 7th and Sunday, June 8th for the event.

Located at the corner of Second and Commerce Streets, the Customs House Museum is the second largest general museum in Tennessee. Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays. Adult admission is $7.00, Sr. Citizens and College ID $5.00, Ages 6 to 18 $3.00, and under six years and Museum members are free.
