Toledo, OH – Austin Peay State University men’s golf team continued to struggle on the final day of the Inverness Intercollegiate, Tuesday, at the Inverness Club.
The Governors closed the tournament with a final-round 315 to finish at 953 and 15th place overall in the two-day, three-round event on the par-71, 7,300-yard layout.

Senior Chris Baker shot a final-round 78 as did sophomore Alex Rios, who bounced back from Monday’s uncharacteristic showing.
Overall, it was senior Tyler Phillips leading the way, shooting a trio of 70s rounds (75-78-79) to finish at 232 and 54th overall. He was five shots better than Baker.
Senior Austin Kramer ended with a final-day 80 while junior Erik Hedberg was 83.
California (877) held off East Tennessee (880) to win the event with Michigan (884) taking third.
The Governors will have little time to recover from their long road trip north. They will head to Edwardsville, IL, this weekend to play in the Derek Dolenc Invitational, Monday and Tuesday, at the Sunset Hills Country Club.
