CareerBuilder reveals this year’s Most Absurd Excuses for Calling in Sick

 

CareerBuilderChicago, IL – Whether it’s to finish binge-watching their latest Netflix obsession, take care of personal errands or simply needing a day off, many workers aren’t above taking a sick day despite having a clean bill of health.

According to a new CareerBuilder survey, 38 percent of employees have called in to work sick when they’re feeling well in the past year, up from 28 percent last year.

Clarksville Street Department to offer Yard Debris Pickup starting Monday

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – ​The Clarksville Street Department is again offering to pick up yard debris, leaves and limbs.  The service will begin October 19th, 2015 and continue through December 1st, 2015.

Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service receives Grant from Firehouse Subs

 

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service is pleased to announce the receipt of a $13,891 grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The grant funds will be used to purchase an inflatable boat with a jet driven motor for the Montgomery County Rescue Squad.

Rehabilitated Bald Eagle Released at LBL

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – A young bald eagle was released back into the wild Saturday, October 10th, 2015, at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area near Duncan Lake.

Forest Service volunteer eagle nest monitor, Ray Stainfield, found the young eagle out of its nest during routine eagle nest monitoring in June. Ray noticed a stick hidden under its left wing. APSU Cross Country Teams improve at Cross Country Only National Invitational

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsRichmond, VA – Austin Peay State University men’s and women’s cross country teams had impressive outings, Saturday, at Pole Green Park. Several of both squads younger members took the opportunity to stand out as ailments depleted both teams.

Wesley Gray led the Govs and finished seventh overall in the men’s five-mile run with a time of 25:45.60, breaking the freshman record for the event. He led the Govs to a third-place finish in the meet.
