APSU Soccer - Austin Peay State UniversityJacksonville, AL – The Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team suffered a 3-2 setback Friday against Jacksonville State at JSU Soccer Complex.

Austin Peay (7-4-1) was active offensively early in the match getting off three shots on goal, but the Governor attack was unable to break through the Gamecock back line.

APSU Volleyball makes it Nine in a Row with Win over Southeast Missouri

APSU Women's VolleyballCape Girardeau, MO – Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team won its ninth-straight contest with a three-set sweep (25-23, 25-22, 25-16) of Southeast Missouri, Friday, in Ohio Valley Conference action at Houck Field House.

Austin Peay (15-2, 3-0 OVC) battled through two tough sets to begin the match, with 16 ties and seven lead changes in the two frames.

APSU Men's BasketballClarksville, TN – Sneakers squeaked across the Dunn Center floor Friday afternoon as Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team got its first fall practice session underway under the watchful eye of first-year head coach Matt Figger.

When your squad returns 14 percent of its scoring, 28 percent of its assists and 17 percent of its rebounding, you get to work and you hit the ground running.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan earns regional leadership award

 

GNRC honors her for work to streamline decision-making

“As our region grows and becomes more interconnected, Clarksville must continue to take a leading role in regional planning,” Mayor McMillan said. “Being part of regional leadership is a necessity, not an option, and I’m happy to be commended for my efforts.”

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee renews one of its most exciting SEC East rivalries this week as the Vols host No. 7/8 Georgia on Saturday in Neyland Stadium. The game will feature a 2:30pm CT kickoff on CBS.

Tennessee (3-1, 0-1 SEC) is coming off a 17-13 win over UMass on September 23rd. Junior running back John Kelly ran for 101 yards and one touchdown on 25 carries. Sophomore receiver Brandon Johnson set new career highs with seven receptions for 123 yards. The UT defense logged seven sacks in the win, marking the Vols’ most sacks since recording seven sacks against Vanderbilt in 2008.

Local Artists to unveil Stained Glass and Painting at Clarksville’s Tennessee State Veterans Home

Tennessee State Representative - District 67Nashville, TN – Clarksville, TN – Noted local artisans, Larry Martin and Lyndel Littleton, will unveil their latest works recently donated to the Wendell H. Gilbert Tennessee State Veterans Home in Clarksville, Tennessee.

The unveiling will take place on Friday, October 6th, 2017 at 11:00am at the Veterans Home, 250 Arrowood Road, Clarksville. Artists, designers and a host of others will be present for the unveiling. The public is invited.

Larry Martin donated an original water color painting to be hung in the chapel of the facility.
