Clarksville Parks and Recreation now taking registrations for 2018 50 Plus Games

 

More than 25 events will unfold May 15th-19th, 2018

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Adults 50 and up can register now through May 4th, 2018 for Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s 50 Plus Games.

The mission of the 50 Plus Games is to encourage participants to maintain an active lifestyle and continue participation in sports and recreational activities through friendly, low-impact competitions.

Clarksville Gas and Water to perform water main work that may cause Water Outages for Warfield Boulevard area

 

Work to take place nightly through March 23rd

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has planned intermittent water outages on Warfield Boulevard through March 23rd for water main improvement work in cooperation with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Warfield Boulevard/Highway 374 road widening project.

Clarksville’s Mariah Smith finishes 3rd at Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate for University of Tennessee

UT Lady VolsSevierville, TN – Former Clarksville High School golfer and state champion Mariah Smith, helped lead a Tennessee contingent of golfers to a strong showing this past weekend at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate.  All three Lady Vols competed as individuals, finishing in the top 6.

“All in all, it was a great week,” Volunteer Assistant Coach Luis Pavon said. “We had three top-six finishes.”

The Volunteers were led by freshman Mariah Smith who finished tied for third, shooting a 54-hole total of 222 with her best round coming on Sunday where she shot an even-par 71.

Two NASA Astronauts Among Crew Heading to International Space Station

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationWashington, D.C. – Three crew members, including NASA astronauts Drew Feustel and Ricky Arnold, are on their way to the International Space Station after launching from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 12:44pm CDT Wednesday (11:44pm Baikonur time).

The Soyuz spacecraft carrying Feustal, Arnold and Oleg Artemyev of the Russian space agency Roscosmos is scheduled to dock to the space station’s Rassvet module at 3:41pm Friday, March 23rd. Coverage of docking will begin at 3:00pm on NASA Television and the agency’s website, followed at 5:00pm by coverage of the opening of hatches between the spacecraft and station.
