The Governors (4-5) enter the event having won their past four matches at home during the Governors Challenge last weekend.

The Govs begin play when they face off against No. 10 Stetson in an 8:00am CT, Friday match.

The Hatters – also a member of the ASUN – have dominated throughout the beginning of their season, as they’re off to a 12-3 start.

After facing Stetson, the Governors will return to the courts, Friday, to face the host and third-ranked Florida State at 12:30pm. The Seminoles, winners of three straight CCSA championships, are looking to bounce back from their two-match losing streak after falling to No. 2 USC and top-ranked UCLA.

The final matchup in the Seminole Beach Battle for the Govs comes against No. 15 Arizona in an 8:30am CT, Saturday, contest. The Wildcats went undefeated in their home tournament, the Bear Down Beach Tournament, after beating Louisiana-Monroe, New Mexico, North Florida, and Arizona State.

All four teams will play each other once and will have a pair tournament at the end of both days. The Govs understand that it will be a tough task heading into this weekend against all nationally ranked opponents, but head coach Taylor Mott is confident the experience can be beneficial.

“I’m proud of the way the girls rebounded at home last weekend, but there are still plenty of areas where we can improve,” Mott said. “This weekend, going up against some of the best competition this sport has to offer will be a tough test and incredible learning experience for us.”
