APSU Sports has Five squads post best-ever APR number in latest NCAA updates

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsIndianapolis, IN – The NCAA released Wednesday, May 8th, that five Austin Peay State University (APSU) intercollegiate athletic teams posted their best-ever multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR).

The NCAA released the complete four-year APR rates for 14 of Austin Peay’s teams—beach volleyball, in its third season, is still building an APR while indoor and outdoor track and field were combined into one data sport-group in 2015. Baseball (985) posted its best-ever APR for the fifth year in a row, increasing from 949 after the 2013 season to 985 via the 2017-18 data.

Meanwhile, a quartet of Austin Peay programs were honored by the NCAA with the Public Recognition Award last week for landing in the top-10 percent among their respective sports.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsIndianapolis, IN – Nine of Austin Peay State University’s 14 intercollegiate athletic teams posted their best-ever multi-year Academic Progress Rate in the most recent release NCAA’s APR Report, Wednesday.

The NCAA released the complete four-year APR rates for each of Austin Peay’s 14 teams – women’s indoor and outdoor track and field were combined into one sport-group beginning with this year’s data.

Every Division I sports team calculates its APR each academic year, based on the eligibility, graduation and retention of each scholarship student-athlete. Teams scoring below certain thresholds can face consequences, such as practice restrictions and restrictions on postseason competition.

APSU Women’s Golf earns Public Recognition Award from NCAA for APR Score

 

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s golf team has earned a Public Recognition Award from the NCAA today, based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR).

These awards are given each year to teams with APRs in the top 10 percent plus ties in each sport.

Football Govs earn OVC APR Award from FCS Athletics Directors Association

 

APSU Sports: Men’s Football

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s football team has earned one of 28 Academic Progress Rate (APR) Awards for the 2009-10 academic year, the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) announced, May 25th.

Austin Peay received recognition for the highest APR among members of the Ohio Valley Conference. The Highest APR Award recognizes one institution at each of the 14 FCS conferences that has the highest APR score; Austin Peay owned a 958 score for 2009-10.
