Nashville trailed 5-2 after Memphis outfielder Tyler O’Neill drilled a two-run homer into The Band Box in the top of the seventh inning. The Sounds rallied immediately in the home half when Andy Ibanez found the gap in right-center for a one-out double. Lombardozzi hit the first pitch he saw from Adam Liberatore down the left field line and off the wall to easily score Jake Smolinski from third. The inning began with a sharp single to left field by Smolinski and continued when Beau Taylor was hit by a Liberatore pitch. Nashville Sounds fall to Oklahoma City Dodgers, 4-2Nashville Sounds
The Sounds were unable to muster anything offensively against Oklahoma City starter Dennis Santana. The pitching prospect, making his Triple-A debut, mowed through the Sounds lineup, striking out 11 batters in six innings to match a career-high. Santana’s counterpart on the mound, James Naile, took a tough luck loss after tossing his fourth quality start of the season. Martini got the third inning started by pulling a solo blast over the right field fence to give Nashville a 2-0 advantage. He then showed off his power with an opposite field three-run shot in the sixth that pushed the Sounds’ advantage to 8-2.
