Columbus, OH – For the second year in a row, Tennessee Vols basketball is ready to take on 15th-seed Colgate in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Nationwide Arena in the South Region. The game tips at 1:45pm CT on Friday and will be televised live on CBS.
Tennessee is 29-5 on the season. That impressive record includes a school-record 19-game winning streak, a program-record-tying three victories over top-five opponents and the second most victories in a single season in program history. The Vols spent four weeks atop the Associated Press Top 25 rankings, and for the first time in program history, UT spent the entire season ranked among the top 10.

The Lady Vols’ match-up with Texas A&M is the first of four straight UT contests vs. teams ranked in the AP Top 20. The Lady Vols and Aggies will be meeting for the 11th time overall and third time in College Station during the series.
The Lady Vols will be aiming to go 16-0 for only the fourth occasion in school history and for the first time during the Holly Warlick era. The last time Tennessee began a season 16-0, the Lady Vols extended the streak to 18 games before finally falling during the 2005-06 season en route to a 31-5 overall record and an Elite Eight finish.

The last time the Lady Vols appeared in a game on The Summitt, Holly Warlick‘s squad upended #2/4 Texas, 82-75, on December 10th.
UT has gone 3-0 in road games since that victory over the Longhorns, taking care of Long Beach State (90-61) on December 17th, #18/24 Stanford (83-71) on December 21st and Kentucky (63-49) on December 31st.

UT will be looking to snap a five-game venue losing streak at Maples, last winning on Stanford’s home court on December 4th, 2005. The Lady Vols will be aiming to go 12-0 for only the fifth occasion in school history and for the first time during the Holly Warlick era.
The last time Tennessee began a season 12-0, the Lady Vols extended the streak to 18 games before finally falling during the 2005-06 season en route to a 31-5 overall record. Incidentally, that was the last time UT beat the Cardinal in Maples.

Knoxville, TN – No. 7/7 Tennessee (10-0) is in the midst of an eight-day West Coast trip, beginning with a Sunday contest vs. Long Beach State (2-7) at Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, CA. Tip time is slated for 2:00pm PT (4:00pm CT).
The Lady Vols returned to the top 10 in both the AP and USA TODAY Coaches Polls this week, rising to No. 7/7 from No. 11/13 last week after knocking off No. 2/4 Texas last Sunday in Knoxville, 82-75.
The Big Orange women are back in the top 10 for the first time since the third poll of the 2015-16 season, when the Lady Vols were rated No. 4/5 on November 23rd. The triumph over Texas was Tennessee’s seventh at home this season and ninth in a row at Thompson-Boling Arena after closing out the 2016-17 with a pair of victories on the Summitt.
Knoxville, TN – Senior Jaime Nared scored 23 points and recorded 13 rebounds to lead No. 11/13 Tennessee to a signature win over No. 2/4 Texas in front of a crowd of 9,651 on Sunday afternoon at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Knoxville, TN – No. 11/13 Tennessee (9-0) plays host to #2/4 Texas (7-0) at 2:00pm CT on Sunday in Thompson-Boling Arena, continuing one of the nation’s top rivalries in women’s college basketball.
These programs have met at least once (sometimes twice) every season since 1982. Holly Warlick and Karen Aston coach two of 14 Division I women’s teams that remain unbeaten in 2017-18 (as of Friday).
The Lady Vols remain undefeated after dismantling a Troy team that entered with a 4-1 record by an eye-popping score of 131-69 on Wednesday night in Knoxville.
