Nashville SoundsAlbuquerque, NM – The Nashville Sounds began their final road trip of the year on a down note, falling 5-3 to Albuquerque on Wednesday evening at Isotopes Park in the opener of a five-game series.

The defeat was the fifth in the past six games for Nashville (50-82).

The Sounds got off to a quick start, plating a run in the top of the first inning against Matt Magill. Kentrail Davis (3-for-4) led off with a triple to center that snapped an 18 at-bat hitless stretch for the outfielder and scored when Eugenio Velez followed with a sacrifice fly.

Nashville Sounds lose 7-5 to Round Rock Express

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds fell 7-5 to the Round Rock Express on Tuesday evening at Greer Stadium in the finale of a five-game series.

Nashville (51-80), which held a 5-1 lead in the fifth before Round Rock plated six unanswered runs, lost four of five to the Express in the series.

Round Rock grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning against Johnny Hellweg. Alex Buchholz (4-for-5) doubled to right and came around to score on Jim Adduci’s two-out RBI infield single.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Albuquerque Isotopes defeated the Nashville Sounds by a 9-1 margin on Wednesday evening at Greer Stadium.

Albuquerque right-hander Matt Magill (3-0) struck out 10 batters, including six in a row at one point, while holding the Sounds to one run on three hits over 5 1/3 innings of work to earn the win.

Eight different Isotopes batters drove in a run in the contest, the Sounds’ eighth defeat in 10 games against Albuquerque on the year.

Tied 2-2 in the seventh, Albuquerque’s Dee Gordon knocked an RBI single into left field to give the ‘Topes a one-run advantage. The run came against Sounds reliever Zack Kroenke (4-13), who took the loss after 1 1/3 innings pitched.

Nashville SoundsAlbuquerque, NM – The Nashville Sounds allowed a season-high 18 hits in Tuesday night’s 10-1 loss to the Albuquerque Isotopes. The loss gives the ‘Topes the series win with still one game remaining in the three-game set at Isotopes Park.

Sounds starting pitcher Chris Narveson (2-5) had a rough night, allowing nine runs to the Isotopes over 4 1/3 innings. He allowed 12 hits to Albuquerque batters, the most surrendered by a Sounds pitcher this season, to take his fifth loss. He fanned one and walked one.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Albuquerque Isotopes defeated the Nashville Sounds by a 3-2 margin in front of 8,301 fans on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium.

The defeat was the league-leading 12th one-run loss of the year for Nashville (13-34).

Outfielder Khris Davis went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles to account for three of the Sounds’ four hits in the contest and first baseman Hunter Morris his team-leading ninth home run of the year in the ninth to help Nashville avoid suffering its fifth shutout of the year.

Nashville’s Prince Goes Yard For Second Straight Night

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds allowed a season-high 16 hits to the Albuquerque Isotopes Friday night at Greer Stadium to lose the homestand opener 10-7.

The Sounds never recovered from Albuquerque’s early jump on Sounds starting pitcher, Frankie De La Cruz (1-6), who allowed four runs in the first inning, one in the second, and two in the third. The right-hander took the loss, his sixth, with two walks and one strikeout.
