Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – With the July calendar reaching its mid-way point, it leaves less than a month before the Austin Peay State University soccer team returns to the pitch to open its 2019 season.

The Governors were 8-8-1 overall in 2018 – including a 3-6-1 mark in Ohio Valley Conference play – under then first-year head coach Naomi Kolarova and enter the season looking to put the pieces together to replace 11 players off last year’s roster, while also looking to make a return to postseason action.

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s women’s soccer team celebrated the program’s 15-year anniversary this past weekend, including capping things with a 2-0 victory over Alabama A&M at Morgan Brothers Soccer Field.

But while players have come and gone over the past decade and a half, the one continual over the years has been head coach Kelley Guth – the only head coach the Govs have ever had in their history.

Instant Peay Play: Tough fall semester ends for APSU Govs, Lady Govs teams

 

Instant Peay PlayClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s fall sports semester ended November 14th, with football, volleyball and cross country wrapping up their respective season’s, and for the fifth straight semester failed to win an Ohio Valley Conference title.

That run of five semesters is the longest for Austin Peay since a stretch from 2008-2010 with no OVC titles.

APSU’s Tatiana Ariza leads Lady Govs Soccer to victory over Evansville Purple Aces

 

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Two second-half goals from senior Tatiana Ariza propelled Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team to a 2-0 exhibition victory against Evansville, Friday, at Morgan Brothers Soccer Field.

The win avenges Austin Peay’s 2-1 preseason loss to the Purple Aces in 2012 and evens the Lady Govs preseason record at 1-1 with one exhibition match remaining.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team is scheduled to play two home exhibition matches to close out its preseason schedule.

The Lady Govs host Missouri Valley Conference foe Evansville in a 7:00pm, August 14th tilt before facing off against NAIA foe Freed-Hardeman at 7:00pm, on August 16th. Both matches will take place at Morgan Brothers Soccer Field.
