The Tennessee Titans will kick off breast cancer awareness month this week in a variety of ways, including honoring survivors on the field at the game.

This week’s game will be televised regionally on CBS, including Nashville affiliate WTVF News-Channel 5. Andrew Catalon will handle play-by-play duties, while Steve Beuerlein and Steve Tasker will serve as analysts.

Miller-Motte Technical College Rolls out the Pink Carpet for Breast Cancer Survivors at second annual Survivor Spa Day

 

Miller-Motte Technical CollegeClarksville, TN – Miller-Motte Technical College Cosmetology and Esthetics program in partnership with the YMCA of Middle Tennessee’s After Breast Cancer (ABC) Outreach Program held a Survivor’s Spa Day as part of the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month; while National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is in October. The Second Annual Survivor Spa Day at Miller-Motte is held in November to extend breast cancer awareness.

Twenty breast cancer survivors gathered at Miller-Motte’s Cosmetology and Esthetics Center to enjoy an evening of pampering. Attendees were offered a selection of beauty tips and services including  make-up application, mini manicures, mini facials, hand treatments, brow shaping, and scalp treatments by Miller-Motte Technical College Students enrolled in their Cosmetology and Esthetics program.

Clarksville Fire Rescue to wear pink for National Breast Cancer Awareness month

 

Clarksville Fire RescueClarksville, TN – On October 4th, 2012, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will join Fire Chief Michael Roberts and Clarksville Fire Rescue in presenting a check to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. October is designated as National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Members of the Clarksville Fire Rescue Department devised an idea for special t-shirts which could be sold to their staff and supporters. Another staffer helped design the shirt.

Ten seasons into the rivalry, this week’s matchup is the first-ever meeting between the Titans and Texans with sole possession of first place on the line.

The Titans, who have played one fewer game than the Texans, currently sit atop the division standings at 3-2. Tennessee was off last week with a bye. The Texans are 3-3 after dropping their last two games to the Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens.
