Nashville, TN – After being tabbed the top team in the country in the most recent AP poll, the Tennessee Vols basketball team will have their hands full Wednesday night, January 23rd as they face in-state rival Vanderbilt in front of a sold-out crowd at Memorial Gym.
The game will tip at 6:00pm CT and will be televised on ESPN2 and can also be viewed online through WatchESPN. Fans can listen live on their local Vol Network affiliate to hear Bob Kesling and Bert Bertelkamp describing the action.
It’s the second time UT has ever been ranked No. 1 in the country, joining the 2007-08 team.
Knoxville, TN – Despite a strong second half by Vanderbilt, No. 22 Tennessee held on to complete the regular-season sweep over its in-state rival, defeating the Commodores, 67-62, in Thompson-Boling Arena on Tuesday night.

The Vols (13-5, 4-3 SEC) are coming off a road win at South Carolina, in which Lamonté Turner dropped a career-high-tying 25 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field and converted on all 10 attempts from the charity stripe. He now has three of the four highest scoring efforts by the Vols this season, all while coming off the bench.

Nashville, TN – Coming off a huge win over Kentucky, the 24th-ranked Tennessee Volunteers will look to build off that momentum Tuesday night with a matchup against in-state rival Vanderbilt at Memorial Gymnasium. The Vols (10-4, 1-2 SEC) came from behind to earn a much-needed 76-65 victory over the No. 17 Wildcats this weekend. Junior forward Admiral Schofield posted one of his most impressive performances since coming to Rocky Top with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting, nine rebounds, four assists, a career-high four steals and a block.

The Govs dispatched Sewanee with ease in exhibition play, but squaring off against a veteran Commodore squad will make for a solid early-season test for Matt Figger‘s first road outing as Governors head coach.

UT snapped a two-game skid on Saturday, picking up a 90-70 win over Missouri behind 25 points from freshman Grant Williams and 21 points from senior Robert Hubbs III. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt grabbed a 71-62 victory over then-No. 21 South Carolina in Nashville.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team faces a tall order literally and figuratively when it plays Vanderbilt, 7:00pm, Friday, in Memorial Gym to open the 2015-16 season.
The contest represents the first game of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. Vanderbilt eventually will end up in Maui for its final three games while APSU, after playing at Indiana, Monday, heads to Greeley, CO, to play its final two games.
