UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – The No. 23/24 Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team (7-1) plays host to Colorado State (5-5) at Thompson-Boling Arena in a 6:02pm CT contest on Wednesday. This match-up between SEC and Mountain West Conference Schools will be the first between these programs.

The Lady Vols close out a six-game home stand before hitting the road for a West Coast swing next week at Stanford and Portland State.

Tennessee suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday afternoon, as unranked Texas ended a two-game skid in the series with a 66-60 victory at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville.

Tennessee is competing in its eighth Sweet Sixteen all time and sixth since 2000. The Vols are 31-5 this season. That impressive record also includes a school-record 19-game winning streak, a program-record-tying three victories over top-five opponents and ties the most victories in a single season in program history.

Tennessee Titans take Penn State DT Austin Johnson with 43rd overall pick in NFL Draft

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans picked up Penn State defensive tackle Austin Johnson Friday with the 43rd overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

At the NFL Combine, the 6’4″ 314 pound Johnson ran a 5.32 second 40 yard dash and had a 26 inch vertical jump.

Johnson started 13 games for the Penn State Nittany Lions racking up 15 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. He returned a fumble 71 yards for a touchdown against San Diego State.

APSU Baseball’s Tyler Rogers Finalist for National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Award

This year’s finalists include NCAA saves leader Tyler Rogers of Austin Peay along with David Berg of UCLA, Jonathan Holder of Mississippi State, Michael Lorenzen of Cal State Fullerton, and Jimmie Sherfy of Oregon.

Tennessee’s Meighan Simmons in the running for Wade Trophy

 

Tennessee Lady Vols Meighan SimmonsAtlanta, GA – University of Tennessee “Lady Vols” stand-out Meighan Simmons has been added to the State Farm Wade Trophy “Wade Watch” list of outstanding college basketball players.  The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced Monday it’s list of outstanding players from across the country.
