Pool Parties include distribution of School Supplies

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is helping children gear up for the new school year with the return of the Back to School Splash.

Students, grades K-12, are invited to enjoy low-cost pool parties where they will receive a backpack full of school supplies. Hot dogs, chips, and a drink will be served to students and parents.

“We’re excited to be hosting the Back to School Splash again this year,” said Kimberly Gilbert, Aquatics Superintendent for Clarksville Parks and Recreation.

Tennessee Sales Tax Holiday to take place over Two Weekends this year

 

Tennessee Department of RevenueNashville, TN – Mark your calendars. For 2020 only, the Tennessee General Assembly has approved two sales tax holiday weekends to help Tennesseans save money and support the economy amid the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.

The first tax-free holiday weekend focuses on clothing and other back-to-school items. It begins at 12:01am on Friday, July 31st, 2020 and ends Sunday, August 2nd, at 11:59pm.

101st Airborne Division Bulldog Battalion Delivers Backpacks to Children in Mosul

Ninewah, Iraq – 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment (Bulldog Battalion), 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division currently operates in an advise-and-assist capacity in Mosul, Iraq. The Bulldog Battalion employs its forces to a myriad of mission tasks aimed at strengthening the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) within Ninewah.

In late July 2019, Bulldog Battalion received 950 backpacks from Retired General Petreaeus’ foundation. Each backpack contained a variety of school supplies to include pencils, markers, notebooks, and rulers.
